Proposal for the manufacturing method of LiB electrode slurry "CDM Process"
Regarding the particle dispersion method for slurry, we propose the solid kneading method → CDM process (patented) [related video available].
We propose a CDM process using our Filmix® as a method for manufacturing electrode slurries for lithium-ion batteries. Compared to traditional solid kneading methods, it offers the following advantages: - Short processing time - High dispersion capability - High reproducibility - Easy scale-up for mass production ■ Solid Kneading Method Process We use kneading machines such as Hibis Dispermix. The typical process involves adding all the powdered raw materials → gradually adding liquid raw materials → kneading until it forms a crumbly to dough-like consistency → further adding liquid raw materials gradually for dilution → performing viscosity adjustment and degassing. <Problems with the Solid Kneading Method> - Maximum scale is around 1,000L - Takes 5 to 10 hours per batch - Low reproducibility ■ CDM Process Steps In the CDM process, instead of taking 5 to 10 hours, we slurry the mixture by adding all liquid and powdered raw materials at once and pre-mixing for about 30 minutes until it can be pumped → then we continuously process the entire amount using Filmix® in 30 minutes. <Effects of the CDM Process> 1) MAX processing of 1,920L/H 2) High reproducibility due to fewer man-hours 3) Reduction in the number of personnel required 4) Decrease in the number of devices and installation area needed
