THA contributes through automation. Here are some achievements from previous consultations. When you want to transport lightweight products such as paper, plastic, or food, there is a method that uses suction instead of a chuck. This method utilizes negative pressure (think of a vacuum cleaner), and the product used for this purpose is called a "pad." Recently, various sizes and features of these products have emerged. However, there are cases where the suction is too strong, leaving marks on the products. In this instance, there was a request to avoid leaving such marks. Due to the thickness, a standard chuck was not suitable, so we prioritized the negative pressure method and began considering alternatives like the Bernoulli method. At our company, we can not only match the product but also propose inspection methods tailored to it, and even suggest the inspection methods themselves. Please feel free to consult with us.

Free membership registration3D printers have recently become more accessible. Our company has a 3D printer that primarily uses a material called ONYX. Let me give you an example of a case where I was glad to have met the need. The attached part was originally made from MC nylon. The shape was flatter, but a slight incline was necessary, and it was urgently needed for the equipment, so we produced it with a 3D printer in one day. "I want to make a slight change, but it will become complex and needs to be done in a short period." This might be a key phrase. It is also being used without any issues in terms of strength, as it is in a location with static loads. If you have any questions, please feel free to consult with us.

Free membership registrationThere was a consultation about whether it is possible to automatically extract the contents of a box. There were challenges such as how to separate the contents from the box and whether they would be damaged during the separation process, so we started by cutting the edges of the box corners. There were issues with the precision of the cutting position and the cutting method, so we began to verify each aspect and refined the process to suit automation. Recently, we have also received projects outside the automotive parts field, and we are continuously challenging ourselves to try new things using the technology we have accumulated. Please feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationOur company has developed testable equipment to help solve our customers' pressing challenges, and we have been utilizing and resolving these issues for a long time. Features of the pressing test equipment include: - Precise settings for pressing values (load and speed) for measurement - Real-time management of pressing values, visualized through waveform graphs - Measurement of extraction load - Capability for pressing in all directions (up, down, left, right) We use a 50kN servo press, but in departments focused on prototyping and testing, there is a strong need for versatile usage due to the variety of products. In fact, we have received requests from users such as: - A preference for a more compact size (more often with smaller loads) - A need for a long stroke due to product shape (600mm) - A desire for more detailed condition settings for the pressing operation In response to these requests, we have developed a pressing test device that incorporates all these requirements for prototyping and verification purposes. Our company is capable of manufacturing equipment tailored to specific requests.

Free membership registrationIn the manufacturing industry, the terms "labor-saving" and "efficiency improvement" are often heard. While they can have similar meanings, the difference between [labor] and [effort] lies in the focus of the terms. "Effort" refers to the time and labor involved, and the goal is to reassess processes to achieve results with less effort, rather than completely replacing the entire process with robots or other machinery. For example, a reassessment might lead to reducing the workforce from three people to two. Recently, various exhibitions and videos have showcased the latest equipment, robots, and AI, but there are cases where companies give up or struggle to progress due to reasons such as: - A high number of tasks performed by humans - A large variety of products with different shapes (small quantities of many types) - Low daily production volumes In such cases, there have been instances where progress was made by systematically reviewing tasks (exploring common actions that can be performed by robots, reassessing jigs, palletizing, using AI cameras, etc.) to achieve [labor-saving]. In the future, automation of "small quantities of many types" products will be unavoidable. THA has a wealth of experience in solving various concerns step by step while providing support. *For more details, please download the catalog or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study that addresses challenges by combining our expertise in press-fitting technology with an approach from the jig side and automation robot control technology. The theme for this time is "We want to press-fit multiple points with one machine." One of the themes in advancing automation is the consolidation of processes. As we progress with EV products, there may also be a demand for compactness. Typically, when multiple press-fit points are required, a device would be needed to move the product to each press-fit location every time a single point is pressed. However, in this case, we needed a device where the robot holds the servo press, which provides the pressing force. This method is challenging because errors on the robot side frequently occur due to the load, making adjustments difficult. Even when consulting with robot manufacturers, there are often cases where it is not feasible. However, we successfully completed a device that effectively combines our jig-side development based on our previous press-fitting technology with the control technology of robots that have handled various automation tasks. The load for this case (servo press): 30 kN specification. *For explanatory materials and details in manga format, please feel free to download or contact us.

Free membership registrationWe received the theme of wanting to press in multiple points with one machine. One of the themes we are advancing in automation is the consolidation of processes. As we move forward with EV products, there is also a demand for compactness. In this case, since multiple pressing points are necessary, normally, a device would be required to move the product to the desired pressing location each time a single point is pressed. However, instead, a device was needed where the robot holds the servo press, which is the pressing power. This method is difficult to adjust due to frequent errors on the robot side caused by the load, and even when consulting with robot manufacturers, there are many cases where it is not feasible. However, we successfully completed a device that combines our existing pressing technology for the fixtures with the control technology of robots that have handled various automation. The load for this time (servo press) is specified at 30 kN.

Free membership registrationAutomation can be successfully implemented in some cases where the benefits are clear, while in others, the drawbacks are prominent, and it may not operate effectively. One reason for difficulties could be the consideration of introducing robots without adapting examples from other companies that perform similar tasks to fit one's own company. If issues are only recognized after implementation, it can lead to additional costs and labor. To avoid such situations as much as possible, I have summarized key points from this perspective. For more details, please download the catalog and take a look. 【Key Points】 ■ Clearly define the "purpose" of automation ■ Share the "purpose" of automation ■ Conduct preemptive risk assessments ■ There are patterns where automation is difficult ■ Set specific goals (challenges) and seek external consultation *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationRecently, there have been many examples and photos of robots being introduced. The benefits of automation include "resolving labor shortages, reducing hiring costs and indirect expenses," as well as "improving production efficiency as a company." On the other hand, there are also disadvantages such as "responses to malfunctions and failures" and "actions that cannot be expressed by machines or speeds that cannot be handled." At THA, we propose equipment that values harmony with the current operations of many users. 【Benefits】 ■ Resolving labor shortages, reducing hiring costs and indirect expenses ■ Improving productivity ■ Stabilizing quality ■ Measures for harsh and dangerous tasks, etc. 【Disadvantages】 ■ In some cases of automation, situations may arise where harmony is not achieved before and after ■ Initial costs can be high ■ Responses to malfunctions and failures ■ There are actions that cannot be expressed by machines or speeds that cannot be handled, etc. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationDuring assembly consultations, there are inquiries about difficulties with assembling rubber components such as O-rings. Since the products that operators are working on vary greatly in length and thickness, the situations leading to defects, such as peeling, are also complex. In such cases, while the operators perform the tasks, the aim is to improve quality through simplification of the work, which may involve the creation of jigs, complete automation from supply to post-assembly discharge, and other objectives that may lead to different mechanisms. This time, there were cases that other companies declined, and the difficulty level was high, but with the intention of moving towards automation with robots, we decided to gradually start with the development of claws suitable for the robots. We cannot display the products, so we have included images for reference. We aim for various approaches. Please feel free to consult or inquire.

Free membership registrationRegarding the management of height after pressing, there was a discussion about wanting to manage the position using servo presses and similar equipment. Depending on the quality control perspective, in cases where pressing does not reach the end of the pin insertion, relying solely on the stroke value on the pressing side may be insufficient. In our company, we have set a height range of ±0.1 and proposed a comprehensive pressing solution that includes the use of fixtures.

Free membership registrationWe would like the user to perform press fitting. ↓ I have never done it. I don't know how to do it. ↓ After researching, it seems that applying pressure (load) from above would be sufficient. ↓ I am not sure if just that equipment will ensure quality. We have been receiving many inquiries following this kind of flow. There are many things that cannot be understood during the prototype stage, such as variations in the press fitting end, which can only be realized by actually trying it out. Our company is equipped with a testing device that can continuously measure and manage the load and stroke values of the press fitting machine, allowing for verification at the prototype stage. We have a proven track record with various directions, speeds, and head shapes. We aim for stable press fitting not only through the equipment but also by designing and manufacturing jigs. 【Features】 ■ By continuously monitoring stroke and load and paying attention to changes, we can manage the press fitting end for each cycle. ■ Capable of accommodating various directions, speeds, and head shapes. ■ We propose equipment suitable for the working environment. ■ We manufacture original space-saving models. ■ We analyze the causes of defects from multiple angles and develop dedicated jigs independently. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationOriginally, it was a consultation for automating visual inspections, but it has been consolidated into multiple processes. For the products on the pallets flowing from the conveyor: - Removal of caps attached to the products - Return of pallets - Transportation - Leak testing - Sorting of leak test results (OK/NG) - Handling - Visual inspection (top, bottom, and outer surfaces) (multiple area cameras + line cameras) - Sorting of visual inspection results (OK/NG) - Oil application - Packing into designated shipping pallets The above multiple processes have been automated. We have pursued high-speed inspection processes and stabilization of inspections (especially leak tests). Since the processes span multiple areas, we cannot list them all, but we completed the project through multiple meetings and confirmations. With various achievements in inspection equipment and based on our experience in complex automation, we aim for various approaches. Please feel free to consult or inquire.

Free membership registrationWhen considering where to start with automation consultations, one option is to begin with simple work processes. There was a process where workers attached two caps to products coming down a conveyor. However, due to the simplicity of the task, continuous work was difficult, and there were concerns about the physical strain on the workers from the repetitive motion, which led to the consultation. Since there were multiple products, we conducted a product and process analysis and addressed the situation with one robot (a SCARA robot). (We also made adjustments on the clamping side to accommodate product variations.) We cannot display the products, so we have included an image for reference. We aim for various approaches. Please feel free to consult or inquire with us.

Free membership registrationTHC contributes through automation. Here are some achievements in the food industry from our past performance. - Conveyance within a specified layout Initially, the conveyance was planned at a height of 600 to 800 from the floor, but due to the building's structure, it was necessary to convey at over 2000. Ultimately, it was required to lower it to a height of 600 to 800, and considering the shape characteristics of the food itself, we developed original conveyance equipment to accommodate this. - We design equipment tailored to the pallets. In the seeding process, there was no existing equipment that matched the current pallets. Due to their special shape, we brainstormed ideas and adapted to the pallet shape.

Free membership registrationPress-fitting two products into one. In a single process, it is also possible to press-fit multiple products of the same type in sequence. For example, with three types of products A, B, and C, it might be A → C, then B → C (with A already press-fitted). Previously, this was handled by separate press-fitting machines for each. After various verifications, we proposed a solution where the press-fitting heads are different, but by incorporating a mechanism to change the heads, we can perform the press-fitting with a single machine. This proposal was evaluated and adopted by a major automobile manufacturer. We cannot display the products, so we are providing an image for reference. We aim for various approaches. Free membership registrationWhen considering automating the current process, what do you think about first? Do you find yourself somewhat thinking about it but unsure how to start, struggling to make progress, or getting stuck along the way? Please feel free to consult with us. For example, we will think around the robot based on the content discussed in meetings. However, the movements of the robot, the speed of 1 to 2 seconds per unit, and the characteristics of the tasks are greatly influenced by factors such as layout and configuration. The surrounding machines and fixtures, not just the robots, are also important, and the robot hands and fixtures will change accordingly. We propose a comprehensive robotic automation system that includes not just machines but also fixtures. (Sometimes, using a single-axis robot may be better than a multi-axis robot.) In terms of specific discussions (this is the current consultation topic): We will conduct leak tests on products processed from the previous step, perform visual inspections, and place the approved items into boxes. These boxes will also be stacked. For the visual inspection, we want to examine the entire circumference, including the bottom surface. We will shape this with specifications such as a cycle time of 2 seconds per unit. While making full use of robots, we will propose solutions that encompass the entire process, not just the robots.
