★World's First Coupling Agent for Carbon Fiber BIC Chemical has developed the world's first coupling agent for carbon fiber that improves the mechanical strength of CFRP using a radical curing resin. BYK-C 8013 / C 8014 has double bonds and reactivity with vinyl ester resin, and it enhances the adhesion between the resin and fibers by forming chemical bonds on the surface of the carbon fibers. As a result, the mechanical strength is significantly improved.

BYK-MAX CT 4255 is a type of inorganic filler designed as an additive for thermoplastic compounds to improve mechanical properties such as tensile strength and gas barrier properties. Depending on the type of gas, it can reduce permeability by up to 40%. Due to its unique organic modification, it exhibits high thermal stability during processing.

BYK-MAX CT 4260 improves flame retardant properties by promoting dripping suppression and char formation, making it suitable for use in halogen-free flame-retardant thermoplastic compounds. BYK-MAX CT 4260 can reduce the amount of fillers such as aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide. This results in improved processing characteristics and physical properties, as well as a reduction in the weight of the compound. The barrier properties against oxygen, water vapor, and hydrocarbons can be enhanced by using BYK-MAX CT 4260. In bioplastics such as thermoplastic plastics and polylactic acid (PLA), the melt viscosity increases, allowing for improved dimensional stability during extrusion.

BYK-MAX CT 4270 allows for improvements in low density, surface appearance, flow length, dimensional stability, and scratch resistance by being added to TPO or polyolefin compounds in amounts of less than 10 weight percent, preferably less than 6 weight percent. It also enhances mechanical properties such as tensile strength. The intended applications are inorganic fillers or glass-filled compounds for TPO-based automotive parts. Unlike other commercially available clay products, BYK-MAX CT 4270 is based on mixed-form clay technology, which facilitates easy dispersion. The organic modification of BYK-MAX CT 4270 is designed to withstand thermal history in the compound. Our proprietary mixed-form clay exhibits excellent dispersibility. Additionally, changes in melt rheology can improve flow length within the mold and reduce resin temperature, leading to shorter cycle times. In composite formulations, a resin-rich surface is often observed. While increasing tensile strength, it is important to note that BYK-MAX CT 4270 may reduce impact strength. To avoid this, a comprehensive evaluation of the entire formulation is necessary. Blending with impact modifiers in the base resin is crucial for achieving the final performance results.

For Thermosetting Resins BYK-3765 is a highly effective silicone additive that powerfully lowers surface tension and improves the wettability of essential substrates. In pigment systems, it can prevent the formation of Benard cells and improve leveling properties.

BYK-3568 is a surface-active additive that moderately reduces the surface tension of paint liquids, particularly solvent-based industrial and automotive paints. This contributes to improved wettability on substrates and helps prevent cratering. When the paint cures, BYK-3568 increases not only the surface slip properties but also the surface energy. This can have a positive effect on the wettability and adhesion of subsequent coatings, printing inks, labels, or adhesives. BYK-3568 has been developed for solvent-based, 100%, and UV systems. BYK-ET 3000; Solvent-based paste of conductive carbon and wetting dispersant for high filler electrode slurry of lithium-ion batteries Features The stabilization effect of BYK-ET 3000 shortens the dispersion process of carbon black and other conductive carbons (such as ketjenblack and carbon nanotubes). Adding BYK-ET 3000 improves particle stability and reduces the viscosity of the slurry compared to standard formulations without dispersants. BYK-ET 3000 facilitates the formulation of electrode slurries for lithium-ion batteries with high solid content. "BYK-1693 SD" is a highly effective and compatible powdered defoamer for hybrid systems that combine mineral-based dry mix mortars with water-based or powder dispersions. The special combination of active ingredients in the additive provides powerful and lasting defoaming properties across the entire range of applications. By reducing the air bubble content, it improves the characteristics of fresh mortar and the physical properties of the cured system. BYK-1693 SD is particularly suitable for two-component waterproof membranes.

"BYK-3558" is a surface additive for high solid and medium solid paints based on silicone and polyether modified acrylate copolymers. Using BYK-3558 moderately reduces the surface tension of wet paint films, improving the wettability of the substrate and effectively preventing beading. It also imparts excellent leveling properties. While surface slip properties increase, the tendency for bubble stabilization within the paint film remains unchanged.
