If the dispersant does not mix into the system, it will not distribute evenly in the liquid. First, compatibility is the primary point. Naturally, if it does not adsorb onto the surface of the particles that need to be dispersed, stabilization of the dispersion will not begin. The adsorption characteristics are the second point. In experiments, evaluations are conducted on the viscosity and particle size distribution of the dispersion, the viscosity and particle size distribution of the coating liquid, and the gloss, haze, transparency, and color name after application and drying. The third point is the evaluation in the final material system. *For detailed content of the article, please refer to the PDF document. For more information, feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationThis document discusses wetting dispersants for the creation of carbon and CNT paste for lithium-ion batteries. Wetting dispersants primarily act on the surface of conductive additives through three mechanisms: π-π interactions between the π electrons of the wetting dispersant and the conductive additive, acid-base interactions, and van der Waals forces. The document includes numerous figures, making it easy to reference. We encourage you to read it. 【Contents (partial)】 ■ Introduction ■ Status of the conductive additive paste market ■ Effects of wetting dispersants ■ Experiment 1: Evaluation of carbon paste creation ■ Experiment 2: Evaluation of cathode slurry creation *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationPaints and coatings using flake pigments and glitter materials, such as metallic and pearl colors, are enjoyable to look at. However, balancing performance aspects such as color development, design, particle orientation, sedimentation prevention, and water resistance can be quite labor-intensive. Typically, flake-shaped pigments overlap each other in the liquid. Especially in water-based systems, the surface is treated to be hydrophobic for water resistance, and if no action is taken, they do not disperse sufficiently in water. *For detailed content of the article, please refer to the PDF document. Free membership registrationVery simple measuring devices are commercially available. This method measures surface tension and surface free energy from the contact angle of liquids. By dropping a liquid with known surface tension (such as water or cyclohexane) onto a coating or solid, the contact angle can be measured. The surface free energy (dispersive component, polar component, total) can be calculated from the contact angles of multiple liquids. *For more detailed information, please refer to the PDF document. Free membership registrationIn the laboratory, it is presumed that many viscosity measurements are conducted using B-type viscometers and rheometers capable of measuring viscoelastic behavior. It can be quite cumbersome, as the temperature must be controlled, and the equipment is delicate, requiring careful handling of the sample set. As a result, some researchers delegate the measurements to laboratory assistants and only receive the numerical data. However, it is important to note that simply matching the temperature is insufficient, and there may be questions about the reliability of the data. *For more detailed information, please refer to the PDF materials. Free membership registrationThis is a tabletop measuring device developed to measure transparency. What makes it excellent is that, unlike conventional methods which only measured total light transmittance, it can measure separately for surface scattering and internal diffusion. Using a stable LED light source, it receives light that has passed through the sample film in an integrating sphere. Inside the integrating sphere, a combination of sensors and shutters allows for analysis that distinguishes between wide-angle scattering and narrow-angle scattering based on their arrangement. Additionally, if a dedicated cell is used, liquids can also be measured. *For detailed information, please refer to the PDF document. For more details, feel free to contact us.*

In this document, we introduce a selection chart for additives for thermoplastic plastics (for compounders). It includes products for the wetting and dispersion of polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyamide, as well as coupling agents, flame retardant additives, and light stability. Additionally, it features thermoplastic elastomers and technical polyesters (such as PET and PBT), as well as liquid color masterbatches. We encourage you to read it. [Contents (partial)] ■ Polyethylene ■ Polypropylene ■ Polyamide ■ Thermoplastic elastomers ■ Technical polyesters (PET, PBT, etc.) *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

This document introduces wetting dispersants that can be mixed with ethanol and isopropyl alcohol, which are used in applications such as electronic materials and ceramic components. It includes products that dissolve in ethanol, products that dissolve in IPA, and products that dissolve in a toluene/ethanol mixture at a 1:1 ratio. Additionally, it features examples of applications, including products suitable for PVB combined with a toluene/ethanol system. We encourage you to read it. 【Warp Reduction Additive SCONA 12031 N】 ✓ A dispersant that enhances the dispersion of organic pigments and suppresses warping caused by pigments. Pigments tend to promote warping in molded products due to the orientation and uneven distribution of PE crystals, but this additive helps to suppress that warping. ✓ Compatibilizer Improves the compatibility of PE with polar polymers such as PA and EVA, enhancing the dispersion of polar polymers within PE. ✓ Coupling agent Functions as a bonding agent between PE and fibers such as wood and glass.

Wet dispersant suitable for the production of color masterbatches in powder form BYK-MAX D 4221 - Developed to achieve good throughput during masterbatch production while providing optimal dispersibility - Allows for sufficient wettability of pigments before melting the polymer carrier - Adsorbs onto the pigment surface, leading to stabilization due to steric hindrance, making aggregates easily dispersible and preventing re-agglomeration - Suitable for compounding silica-based fillers (talc, forlastonite, mica) in PA, PET, and PBT

【High Aspect Ratio Plate-like Clay EVA Masterbatch BYK-MAX FR4145】 BYK-MAX FR 4145 is a dust-free organic phyllosilicate formulation pre-dispersed in an ethylene-vinyl acetate carrier, making it easy and safe to handle. This product is particularly suitable for halogen-free flame-retardant thermoplastic compounds, and its addition improves flame retardancy, especially enhancing dripping behavior and crust formation, serving as a flame retardant additive masterbatch. These features provide significant advantages in applications subject to stringent fire safety regulations, such as cable coatings. BYK-MAX FR 4145 exhibits synergistic effects when used in conjunction with flame retardants, allowing for a reduction in the amount of flame retardant added. Flame retardancy is maintained while improving processability and mechanical properties.

Features BYK-397 is a low-polarity additive that provides a perfectly balanced general-purpose type, imparting excellent orientation to the paint surface. This has two effects: one is superior leveling properties, and the second is that it also has defoaming capabilities. This effect is achieved even with a small amount of addition. The surface tension of the paint is only slightly reduced, while recoatability and internal adhesion are maintained. Furthermore, BYK-397 can be used in both colored and clear coatings without causing cloudiness or haziness. It can also be used in high-gloss paints. BYK-397 is suitable for both thin and thick film types. It has excellent thermal stability and does not cause yellowing at high bake temperatures.
