High-precision latches are used for automatic measurement of tool lengths, shape inspection (measurement) with touch probes, and three-dimensional (3D) shape inspection (measurement). Touch probes (which detect contact with a special sensor) are attached to a multi-axis drive mechanism (head) and brought into contact with the workpiece being measured. At that time, the sensor input latches the feedback counter coordinates (stores them in hardware) to measure the positional information. For example, when considering a machine tool for metal processing, it enhances machining accuracy by inspecting the displacement of the metal workpiece when it is positioned and by inspecting the shape of the metal workpiece. With the increase in the size and precision of stages, a gantry structure and parallel axis drive mechanisms are required. If the center of the table is driven when operating the mechanism, the resistance in the driving direction will occur evenly on both sides. In contrast, if one side is driven due to the mechanism's configuration, twisting (yawing) of the table will inevitably occur. This yawing will lead to inaccuracies in the position of the workpiece on the table. Additionally, there may be cases where central driving is not possible due to the size of the table or structural constraints. In such cases, the key point is how to drive the table without yawing. In multi-axis interpolation, the delay in the servo system causes an inward deviation of the trajectory. As a result, there is a discrepancy between the actual trajectory and the ideal trajectory. The shape correction function compensates for the delay in the servo system, improving trajectory accuracy. This is effective for devices that require high speed and high precision, such as mold processing, polishing, and shaping. The Techno motion controller is primarily a standalone type that does not require a PC. For example, the one-board motion controller (SLM8000) can be used as an NC simply by powering on the main unit (board). This means it can be used with processing machines even without a PC. However, for instance, the data output from CAD/CAM may be expected to be large in size. ======= If we consider the command time for one instruction (linear interpolation) to be 0.1 seconds and the processing time to be 10 hours (36,000 seconds), the number of commands would be 360,000. Assuming one command is 64 bytes, the operating program would be approximately 22 MB. ======= In such cases, it is not possible to store all G-code programs in the memory of the motion controller.
