Ideal for applications where appearance is important! Due to the absence of mold marks, there is a high demand for transparency.
Free-blow molding is a method that inflates a softened material using air after heating.
A benefit is that the spherical part does not come into contact with the mold, so there are no mold marks. Because there are no mold marks, there is a high demand for transparency, and materials with high transparency, such as acrylic and polycarbonate, are often used.
Additionally, since the material is heated and softened before being stretched with air, the center part becomes particularly thin. While this varies depending on the type of resin, thickness, diameter, and height, the apex of the dome, which becomes especially thin, is about half the thickness of the sheet.
【Molding Process】
1. Heat the material to soften it
2. Clamp and send air
3. Inflate with air
4. Trim after cooling
