Cryostat system
The heart of the cryostat is a continuous flow system that utilizes the cooling capacity of liquid helium. This process vaporizes and expands the liquefied helium, generating a powerful cooling effect. Subsequently, a pump transfers the gaseous helium, slightly compresses it, and sends it to a larger compressor, where the helium is liquefied again. The temperature range achievable with conventional liquid helium-4 (4He) baths can be further lowered by using the rare helium isotope helium-3 (3He), allowing the cryostat to reach even lower temperatures. Essential components of the diaphragm pump cryostat system KNF's diaphragm pumps provide a versatile and customized approach to meet the unique needs of any application, whether in laboratories, industries, or other applications where a reliable and efficient pumping solution is required.
