The "sea of clouds," which can only be seen when multiple conditions such as weather conditions, humidity in the atmosphere, temperature changes, mainly during early morning hours, and elevation are met, lacks established prediction technology, making it difficult to witness even when one actually goes to the location. Therefore, we have developed a technology that utilizes AI (machine learning), which has rapidly advanced in recent years, to predict sea of clouds at local tourism spots. This technology can predict sea of clouds using only weather data from the Japan Meteorological Agency's AMeDAS, making it applicable anywhere in the country as long as there is an AMeDAS observation point nearby. Please feel free to consult us first. ■ Features - Predicts the probability of sea of clouds occurring over a relatively wide area (region) - Predictions can be made based solely on data publicly available from the Japan Meteorological Agency - A system equipped with weather data acquisition means and sea of clouds prediction means - Utilizes machine learning by computers - The prediction accuracy for model cases has a hit rate of up to 81.8%

Free membership registrationThis is about a new thermosensitive material that changes color according to the external environmental temperature, and it has the following features: (1) It has excellent film-forming properties and transparency in the dark, and demonstrates high light-blocking ability due to strong blue coloration when exposed to light, making it useful as a dimming film. (2) It develops sufficient color when exposed to sunlight, and since the composite film takes time to completely lose its color after developing, it can be used as a photosensitive material for blueprints. The fading time can also be adjusted. (3) Particularly when containing organic acids such as oxalic acid or glycolic acid, the time until the color completely disappears is even longer, making it suitable for use as a recording medium. (4) Since it can be made primarily from environmentally friendly materials, disposal is easy, and it can be used in various applications including energy-saving measures through dimming. <Applications> (1) Film for smart windows (applied to windows to control indoor brightness) (2) Rewritable paper (prints/copies with light, returns to transparency after a few hours) ****Please contact us if you would like a sample****

Free membership registration*Looking for partner companies for joint development* The blood-brain barrier (BBB) has an important function in preventing harmful substances from entering the brain and maintaining a healthy environment within it. However, due to the presence of the BBB, water-soluble drugs administered peripherally cannot be delivered to the brain, and conversely, it has not been possible to restore the function of the BBB once it has opened due to pathological conditions such as neurodegenerative diseases. Recently, Yamaguchi University has established a method to artificially and reversibly open and close the BBB. By identifying the key factors involved in the opening and closing of the BBB and utilizing its physiological functions, it is now possible to reversibly open the BBB under conditions with minimal concerns about side effects, paving the way for drug delivery to the brain, which has been challenging. Additionally, restoring the function of the pathologically opened BBB is expected to improve disease conditions. <Target Diseases> - Closing an opened BBB: cerebral infarction, diabetic retinopathy, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, etc. - Opening a closed BBB: brain tumors, neurological diseases, etc. <Benefits for Companies> - The development of new, highly safe therapeutic drugs is now possible through a novel mechanism that allows for the artificial and reversible opening and closing of the BBB.

Free membership registrationConventional paper media feeding was done using rubber rollers and pads, which wear out over time, leading to feeding failures. To address this issue, Yamaguchi University of Science and Technology in Sanyo-Onoda City developed a paper media feeding technology that utilizes electrostatic adhesion. Since the wear of the electrostatic pads that generate electrostatic adhesion is extremely low, it is expected to maintain feeding performance even after long-term use. Additionally, by controlling the applied voltage and waveform, it is possible to change the force acting on the paper media, allowing for adaptation to changes in the conditions of the paper media or the usage environment without modifying the mechanism.

Free membership registrationRegarding the analysis of intravascular ultrasound catheter images, the majority vote filter is excellent as a method for removing a small number of errors. However, since it executes class classification independently for each pixel, it becomes difficult to obtain valid judgment results when there is significant overlap in the distribution between different class data sets. Our company has invented a "class classification method and device" that can accurately perform class classification even when there is overlap in the distribution of data sets between different classes. This method can be applied to various types of biological image analysis and is not limited to biological images; it can also be applied to other image analyses and data analyses beyond images, such as audio. Free membership registrationInside the frame that partitions the water area established around the movable object, that is, in the water chamber, there exists a horizontal motion component in the movement of the water, which poses a problem where the wave energy conversion device utilizing the vertical movement of the movable object cannot operate smoothly. In this invention, multiple small water chambers are arranged in the lower part of the water chamber where the movable object is floated, thereby regulating the horizontal movement of the seawater in the water chamber, allowing the float to remain stable and buoyant in the vertical direction. Additionally, since no horizontal impact forces act on it, the movable object and its supporting parts can float stably without damage, allowing for the stable and reliable extraction of wave energy through the vertical movement of the movable object. [Research Overview] - This can be implemented not only for breakwaters but also for large floating structures (mega floats) equipped with water chambers on their outer periphery. - In the case of large floating structures shaped like barges, they can be towed to evacuate the movable object-type wave energy conversion device during typhoons and other events. - It can move to wave generation areas to efficiently capture energy. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationTwo-photon absorption (TPA) refers to the ability to spatially select the location where light absorption occurs in three dimensions, and the probability of two-photon absorption is proportional to the square of the intensity of the incident light. For practical applications, materials with high two-photon absorption efficiency are required at necessary wavelengths (short wavelengths for optical recording, long wavelengths for bioapplications) and under specific environments (solid state for optical recording, underwater for bioapplications). ● New molecular design guidelines: Azulenyl compounds - Significant increase in two-photon absorption efficiency - Achieving the levels required for applications ● High-efficiency materials in solid state - Approximately tenfold increase in two-photon absorption efficiency ● Solubilization of high-efficiency materials in water ◇◆ For more details, please request materials or download the catalog ◆◇
