This product is an eddy current welding position detection sensor that utilizes changes in eddy currents at the target welding position. This product consists of a detection sensor (hereinafter referred to as the sensor) and a controller. The sensor converts the eddy current detection signal into a digital signal and communicates with the controller via serial data. The controller performs signal processing and threshold comparison. This product was born from our company's linear encoder detection technology. It detects the magnetic field of the N and S poles and outputs the rotational displacement in analog form. By using a two-pole magnet, a detection distance (the gap between the sensor and the magnetic body) of 8mm ± 2mm is achieved. Eccentricity is allowed up to Φ1mm (±0.5mm). Due to the lack of mechanical connections, it is resistant to vibration and shock, making it suitable for use in rotating parts of robotic arms and construction machinery without coupling. This is a dedicated target magnet for the SW series from Makome Research Institute. The detection distance varies depending on the magnetic force. The GS-515 adheres to the electrical specifications of the GS-315 and adopts a newly developed case based on the GS-550. It is a guide sensor that is waterproof (IP-67) and resistant to vibration and shock, combining the best features. It is smaller than the GS-315, allowing for greater installation flexibility. This product is a welding position detection sensor that uses the eddy current method. It detects the welding seam position of magnetic materials moving in the same direction (non-destructive testing). The sensor detects the welding seam as a change in analog voltage, and the detected analog signal is converted into ON/OFF signals for a transistor by a comparator and outputted. (Analog output is also available.) It is not affected by surface treatments (mirror finish, sandblasting, shot blasting, painting, plating, anodizing, etc.), so there is a possibility of detecting workpieces that could not be detected by image sensors (image processing) or laser sensors. Detection is possible for both magnetic and non-magnetic metals, but it may be difficult to detect depending on the size and shape. Therefore, we suggest starting by discussing your needs, borrowing the target workpiece, and exploring the possibility of detection. We will generally respond free of charge regarding the possibility of detection, and if there are costs associated with jigs or other items, we will proceed after obtaining your consent. At an automotive safety inspection company, the steering wheel rotation angle of vehicles was measured using optical sensors. However, due to issues such as light scattering and dust accumulation, "missed reading" errors occurred, leading to an increase in the number of tests and a significant decrease in work efficiency. There were requests for "sensors that are not affected by external disturbances" and "keeping the introduction costs as low as possible." The linear encoder system "SI-140 series" that we recommend consists of the magnetic detection head "SIE-140" and the magnetic scale "SIS-140." Installation is simply a matter of wrapping the "SI-140" around the steering axis of the vehicle. The number of measurement tests, which previously took 5 times, has been reduced to just 2, less than half. The accuracy of the aluminum work cutting machine was unstable, leading to unnecessary work due to the need for accuracy checks every time. We are considering the introduction of a photoelectric system, but it was mentioned that "there is a possibility of false detection due to aluminum dust." We received requests such as "we want a scale that is not affected by aluminum dust" and "we don't mind an accuracy of about 0.1mm, but we want to keep the introduction costs low." Therefore, we installed the "SI-140PAC (Incremental)" made by Makome Research Institute on the aluminum cutting machine. We manufacture approximately 40,000 iron balls with a diameter of 10φ every day, and among them, defective products (magnetized iron balls) are mixed in. Currently, only random sampling inspections are conducted, which allows defective products to escape. There was a request for "monitoring of magnetized iron balls on the automated line" and "to maintain a detection distance of 30mm between the detection object and the sensor due to the line structure." We installed the guide sensor "GS-116" manufactured by Makome Research Institute on the line conveyor, enabling the detection of the magnetic field of the iron balls and their expulsion (although this depends on the strength of the magnetic field). We have been using a stirrer for drug formulation, and until now, we managed the mixing process by timing it with the stirrer's button. Although we adjust the stirring time based on seasonal conditions, managing it by time means that any malfunction could lead to insufficient mixing and result in product defects. There have been requests such as "I want to monitor whether the stirrer is definitely running" and "I want to manage the stirrer's rotation speed and shorten the changeover time." We installed the magnetic proximity switch "DW-100" manufactured by Makome Research Institute on the stirrer, placing the "DW-100" next to the stirrer shaft, and affixing the magnetic bodies "SMG-100N" and "SMG-100S" around the shaft. At a wood processing manufacturer, there were frequent troubles with the conveyor for transporting "particle boards (3×6 feet × 80 sheets/1 lot)." There were requests such as, "The conveyor's top chain reaches its material lifespan at 1,650 rotations, so we want to replace it before then," and "We want a sensor that can reliably count so that we can ensure it is worn out by 1,650 rotations." Therefore, we installed the magnetic proximity switch "DW-350" made by Makome Research Institute under the conveyor and attached the magnetic body "SMG-100N" to the top chain. At one point on the production line, frequent troubles (chocolate stops) were occurring, and during these troubles, the line could not be stopped, causing the work from the previous process to enter the trouble area and become defective. We wanted to introduce AB control, so we summarized the current issues, which revealed three main factors: "troubles are not detected, and work is being input," "work continues to flow even while workers are engaged in recovery operations, making it unsafe," and "the working environment is poor, and the photoelectric sensor is not detecting." Therefore, we installed the positioning sensor "PS-4482" from Makome Research Institute on the line conveyor and the magnetic body "MG-102A" on the work pallet. We have adopted the "Kanban production system" and produce 15 varieties of products on one line, but on busy days, up to 8 "changeovers" are required. After recording the changeovers on video and analyzing the situation, it was found that the "overall equipment efficiency" and "net operating rate" were declining. Therefore, we held discussions with the maintenance design team and automated the changeover process. We installed Makome Research Institute's linear encoders "SIE-140 (incremental)" and "SAE-200 (absolute)" on the motor-driven thickness adjustment machine. "MP-620 Series" Linear Displacement Sensor Utilizing multiple uniquely developed detection elements called "saturable coils," it detects the relative position to the detection body (magnet) non-contactly and provides linear output (voltage/current). Since each detection element captures the positional changes of the detection body (magnet), disturbances in output due to vibration or shock are almost nonexistent.
