During the inquiry stage, you kindly visited our company to confirm the actual locker and discuss your specifications. We have decided to increase the dimensions of the main body by 50mm in width, depth, and height to accommodate school children's backpacks, and to produce a total of 30 units in 5 different door colors, with 6 units of each color. The customer mentioned, "The other day, after the briefing, we received very positive feedback from the parents. We are really looking forward to welcoming the children in the new school year. The design medium requires a large size. It was custom-ordered for storage purposes. This is a five-drawer wide drawer with an all-lock type used in the office. We visited an office building in Umeda, Osaka, for delivery with our own team members. It is a user-friendly large drawer with a standard structure that allows for dividers to be added both vertically and horizontally.

We received an order for our custom-made lockers for the new office building of Zen-Ei Co., Ltd. Initially, we received an inquiry via email from the president, who sent us the layout drawings of the new office. We considered the dimensions to fit within the space, and ultimately, we were able to make it fit perfectly by using a slightly smaller custom size in one location. Since it was in Mie Prefecture, we handled the delivery and installation ourselves. We were pleased to see that the president and the employees were happy with the result. Nesting refers to the process of combining and arranging multiple parts from steel materials. Its purpose is to reduce material waste. Specifically, how can we improve material yield and achieve efficient machine operation? In the era when turret punch presses were the main machinery, steel was purchased in sketch material sized to fit each part, and it was common to process each piece individually. However, as laser-turret punch combination machines became the mainstay, the method shifted to purchasing standard-sized materials for processing. Consequently, CAM software transitioned from AP100 to Dr. ABE, giving rise to the culture of nesting. However, using standard sizes for each product as in the past resulted in poor yield, leading to increased material costs and a tendency for product costs to rise.

We received an order for 650 manga boxes for the new university library. We are very pleased that our proposal for usability was adopted. For production, we asked a local processing company to handle the metal parts, and collaborated with our company's sheet metal components, while conducting painting and assembly work in-house. By carrying out assembly and packaging work systematically on the production line, we were able to proceed smoothly.

The painting, which has a significant impact on appearance, is directly linked to quality. What challenges need to be addressed and how should we tackle them? In establishing our company's greatest feature, the "integrated production system," conducting painting in-house has become a very important factor. Particularly, sheet metal processing companies that have their own painting facilities are relatively few, making this a significant strength for us. By promoting production that does not burden the painting process, we are enhancing our technical level. Specifically, by eliminating the need for putty and focusing on welding finishes, we establish standards to ensure quality with the minimum necessary energy by confirming what level of finish is required for each painting method and coordinating between the welding and painting processes.

What kind of technologies and design development efforts are necessary to safely and efficiently produce products that meet customer needs? Since our founding, we have been involved in the design and manufacturing of custom lockers, steel furniture, and other box-type enclosures, and the blueprint data and know-how we have accumulated are substantial. For example, in lockers, we often use steel plates weighing between 0.7 to 1.0 tons, with heights of 1790 or 1600 mm, while in control panels and distribution boards, we frequently see weights of 2.3 tons or 1.6 tons.

Steel that has been cut to optimal dimensions for immediate processing is referred to as cut plates (sketch material). Steel of standard dimensions is called standard size (raw plate). In what situations is it better to procure one over the other?

The photo shows products and parts that have undergone bending processing using a hybrid vendor with network capabilities. By preparing data in advance with a bend cam, productivity for lot items can be significantly increased. Even if the enclosures look similar at first glance, the design structures differ between indoor and outdoor use. What kind of specifications are being envisioned for what purpose? Since our founding, we have designed and manufactured many indoor enclosures such as lockers and safes. The characteristics of indoor enclosures include the use of SPCC as the main material, with melamine resin baked coating being the mainstream for painting. Additionally, there is no need for waterproof functionality in terms of structure, and the main joining method is spot welding, with a thickness of 0.8mm steel plates being commonly used.

**Differences Between Cell Stud Method and Stud Welding** The cell stud method is significantly different from what is commonly known as stud welding. In our company, we use the CD method for stud welding, which is one of the welding methods that utilizes a capacitor charged from an AC power source. On the other hand, the cell stud method involves pressing into pre-drilled holes in the steel plate. **Advantages and Disadvantages of Stud Welding** Stud welding has minimal impact on the base material, and the surface appearance is hardly affected. It is an effective processing method when you want to maintain the appearance while incorporating the functionality of screws. However, in terms of strength stability, it lacks reliability, and there is a possibility of the studs coming off.

The way the door opens greatly affects the impression of the locker, the design of the space, and usability. What kind of design should be considered depending on how it will be used? Typical locker structures include "single door" and "double door." If the width is W600-650 or more, we usually choose a double door; if it is less than that, we typically opt for a single door. In terms of locking mechanisms, single doors often have a structure where a cam is attached to the side frame of the main body, while double doors primarily use a structure with a round bar bolt.

We have received a request from a temple in Osaka City and are currently producing a large number of lockers. The differences from the previous personal lockers lie in the size settings and the gold coloring. We have been asked to provide a total of 300 compartments (12 units for 25 people) and have proposed designs that fit the installation space and image. We will conduct quality checks on the appearance and locking mechanisms to ensure that we ship products of reliable quality.

Telework and web meetings have changed the way offices operate during the COVID-19 pandemic. The frequency of commuting has shifted from daily to once or twice a week, while also varying the time of day to avoid crowding. The exchange of documents and packages in offices and stores has also become "unmanned," leading to the selection of delivery lockers similar to "parcel lockers." This time, we have ordered a dial lock so-called "parcel locker" for office use. It is a locker that can store packages like a mailbox. The sizes have been adjusted to allow for selecting locker compartments based on the size of the packages, and each door is equipped with a combination lock, allowing individuals to retrieve their own packages.

We received a request from a food manufacturer and delivered seven units. After multiple meetings, we arranged the delivery for use in the staff changing room. Regarding the specifications, the lock is a cylinder lock with a one-way extraction feature, meaning the key cannot be removed unless it is locked, which enhances security. Additionally, the paint color is different for the body and the door. The door color features a lighter wood grain finish. Instead of using a wood grain sheet, we employed our unique painting technique to achieve the wood grain effect. Unlike sheet coverings, which can peel over time and are susceptible to moisture, our painted finish is highly durable and resistant to humidity, receiving great praise from customers. The wood grain paint is available in two colors: a darker dark brown and a lighter light brown, which can be chosen based on the impression of the room where it will be installed. Furthermore, customers can assign their own preferred numbers and order for the number tags attached to the doors.

In this meeting, we first determined the internal dimensions of the drawers to accommodate your preferred size, and from there, we gathered your requests regarding the external dimensions of the wide drawer and other specifications (such as including casters and changing the number of drawer tiers) to lead to the completion of the product. The design includes an all-locking key feature, so by simply locking the key on the top drawer, all drawers are secured, ensuring a focus on security. Additionally, we can create partition boards inside the drawers according to your requests, and for this project, we made a vertical two-partition in the center of the drawer. The partition boards are removable, allowing you to take them out and use them as needed for each drawer.

We carefully discussed issues such as the shoe sizes of the athletes and the space for installation, allowing us to carry out the installation work in-house. Since it will be used outdoors, we have made adjustments such as using acrylic paint for the coating.

At Jinbara Works, we generally use a sheet metal thickness of 0.8 mm when creating valuable item lockers. However, for map cases, we use 1.0 mm, and for sports lockers, we use 1.6 mm, adjusting the thickness based on the product being made. While using thicker sheets can increase strength, using excessively thick sheets can make the product heavier and less user-friendly. Additionally, the price of materials varies with thickness, which can also increase the cost of the products. Therefore, at Jinbara Works, when we receive an order from a customer, we inquire about the size and weight of the items to be stored, as well as the usage conditions, such as whether people will be sitting on it. This allows us to select the appropriate sheet thickness to create a "durable" locker that meets the intended use. In the past, for a single locker, we have used various sheet metals besides the 0.8 mm, including 0.6 mm for reinforcements, 0.7 mm for inner boxes, and 3.2 mm for cams, among others, even for standard products.

We sometimes receive requests for custom-made items, such as "I want to reflect photos or illustrations on the locker doors. I would like the colors to be different for each door." While our company can relatively easily accommodate requests regarding size and color, we have struggled to fulfill requests to reflect photos or images because it has required AI data (Illustrator data).

Such issues arise when the position and number of holes required for electrical wiring differ based on the installation location and intended use, or when additional holes are needed during installation. If the required positions and number of holes are known in advance, they can be accommodated with custom design. By selecting these materials, it is possible to achieve rust prevention effects without the need for painting.
