Far infrared rays have the characteristic of directly heating objects by utilizing radiative heat transfer. Infrared rays are a type of electromagnetic wave, like radio waves and visible light, and are invisible electromagnetic waves with longer wavelengths than visible light. The range of infrared wavelengths is from 0.8μm to 1,000μm, and the range with wavelengths longer than 3μm is called far infrared. Heating of objects by far infrared means that the absorption of far infrared rays causes the molecules that make up the object to vibrate.
