In radiation therapy for cancer, X-ray fluoroscopy imaging is widely used to determine the tumor's position. Generally, gold is inserted as a high-contrast marker for the tumor position, and imaging with the X-ray fluoroscopy system is performed by tracking this gold marker. However, the insertion of gold markers poses a problem as it can cause emphysema or pneumothorax, and their use is not permitted in the United States. The present invention proposes a method to measure tumor position fluctuations with high precision directly from X-ray fluoroscopy images without using high-contrast markers like gold (markerless).
