Teflon-impregnated micro-crack coating "Tef-Lock Fine"

Achieve maintenance of lubricity and improved load-bearing capacity and durability with micro-crack plating + PTFE!

We have a product called "Tef-Lock," which is our original plating that incorporates PTFE into hard chrome plating. This is a composite surface treatment that combines the high hardness and wear resistance of chrome plating with the low friction and lubrication properties of PTFE. However, in high-load environments where chrome plating may wear away, it has been difficult to maintain low friction and lubrication. However, we have developed "Tef-Lock Fine" by impregnating PTFE into our original Cro-Fine (high-hardness micro-crack chrome plating) coating, which solves these issues. 【Features】 ■ Hardness increased compared to conventional Tef-Lock (HV850 → HV900) ■ Increased crack density and higher PTFE content compared to conventional Tef-Lock ■ Maintains low friction under high loads and exhibits excellent wear resistance *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Manufacturing of industrial crown rolls

We are capable of manufacturing and repairing crown rolls such as radial crowns, taper crowns, and reverse crowns (concave).

Surface treatment: Hard chrome plating Finishing: Buff polishing, mirror polishing ■ What is a crown roll? A crown roll is a roll whose central dimension is higher than the dimensions at its ends, finished in an arc shape, referred to as a radial crown, while those finished by connecting taper shapes are called taper crowns. Conversely, a roll with higher dimensions at its ends than at its center, opposite in shape to a crown roll, is called a reverse crown. ■ Applications In addition to preventing deflection and ensuring uniform nip, crown rolls are used for various purposes, including stretching film wrinkles. ■ Precision rolls and mirror finishes are also available. We can manufacture crown rolls with a precision of less than 3μ using high-precision grinding machines, as well as ultra-mirror crown rolls with a finish of less than 0.05S using mirror polishing machines. We also offer measurement of existing roll crown values, creation of backup rolls, and repair of crown rolls.

Trivia: "Why does chrome plating still rust?"

I will answer the question, "Why do parts and rolls that have been coated rust or corrode?"

This is due to the presence of micro-cracks, which are invisible cracks, on the chrome-plated surface. Micro-cracks are interconnected within the plating film, and tracing them can reveal connections from the surface to the base material. Therefore, when exposed to environments with high humidity and condensation or to environments with strong corrosive gases, corrosive factors can enter through the micro-cracks, leading to corrosion of the base material that has been chrome-plated. As a result, rust may appear on the surface of the item, or the chrome plating may start to lift due to corrosion, ultimately leading to peeling. As a countermeasure, when using rolls in corrosive environments, it is common to use stainless steel for the base material; however, for iron or aluminum, methods such as nickel + chrome plating or double plating are also available. Countermeasure 1: It is called nickel chrome. By applying nickel plating as a base layer and chrome plating on top of the nickel plating, corrosion caused by micro-cracks can be prevented. Countermeasure 2: This method involves processing the chrome plating in two layers. By separating the application of chrome plating into the first and second layers, the number of micro-cracks that reach the base material is reduced, which is expected to effectively prevent corrosion caused by micro-cracks.

Trivia: "What are pits and pinholes?"

There is a defect in chrome plating known as pits and pinholes, which are holes that form in the plating film. I will explain these pits and pinholes.

Have you ever heard the terms "pit" and "pinhole"? Both refer to defects where holes form on the surface of a plating film, but what is the difference between them? First, a pit refers to a hole that does not reach the base material. In contrast, a pinhole refers to a hole that does reach the base material. Pits are less likely to lead to immediate corrosion, while pinholes allow corrosive factors to enter through the hole, increasing the risk of corrosion and rust formation in the base material. To explain it simply, this is how it works. Next, why do pits and pinholes occur? The causes can be broadly divided into two types: - Issues during plating, such as debris adhesion or hydrogen gas bubbles. - Defects in the material itself, such as holes or inclusions. The first type is largely influenced by the plating contractor's skills and the management of the plating solution, so choosing a good plating contractor can help reduce these issues. On the other hand, for material-related issues, it is important to select high-quality materials.

Trivia: "What is plating?"

I will explain plating in an easy-to-understand way, as it can be difficult for unfamiliar people to visualize.

To put it simply, plating is a technology that involves applying a new metallic coating to the surface of a material, and it is widely used in our everyday lives. For example, tin plating is applied to tin plates for corrosion resistance, and zinc plating is applied to corrugated sheets. Gold plating is used for decorative purposes on trophies and medals, while copper and gold plating are applied to semiconductor components to provide conductivity. As such, there are various types of plating, each with different purposes and characteristics.

Suzukobalt chrome alloy plating Piroalloy SC process

Introducing the "Pilo Alloy SC Process" for Suzukobalt Chrome Alloy Plating.

Chrome plating is adopted in various industries for its color tone and corrosion resistance. The Pyroalloy SC process introduced here is an environmentally friendly surface treatment that does not contain harmful substances during the process or in the coating. Unlike chrome plating, it can be processed in a barrel, allowing for the plating of small items such as screws. In recent years, concerns have arisen regarding the use of hexavalent chromium in the chrome plating process due to environmental issues, but our product is very easy to handle. ● For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.

Room temperature zinc plating "ROVAL"

It is a painted zinc coating. The rust prevention effect of zinc coating has been achieved through painting.

Cold zinc plating "ROVAL" enhances the zinc content in the dry coating to 96%, providing rust resistance equivalent to that of hot-dip galvanizing. Additionally, it can be applied at room temperature regardless of location, which is why it is referred to as "cold galvanizing" in contrast to hot-dip galvanizing. It is not only effective for rust prevention and repair of zinc plating on iron but also extends the lifespan of aging zinc coatings. ROVAL has been used in various fields for over 50 years. For more details, please download the catalog.

Plating cosmetic spray "Mekki Cover"

It is a plating cosmetic spray that changes gloss in the same way as zinc plating.

The plating cosmetic spray "Plating Cover" is designed to address the issue of dull gray or dark gray "burn" (gray coating) that occurs on the surface during plating processes. Even if there are no problems with corrosion resistance, this can significantly detract from the appearance. When repaired with a regular silver pen, the area treated will retain its initial luster while the surrounding plated surfaces oxidize and lose their shine over a few months, making the repaired area stand out even more. Plating Cover is designed to gradually lose its luster along with the surrounding plating, making repairs less noticeable. For more details, please download the catalog.
