This temperature controller is designed to stabilize the wavelength and power of a semiconductor laser using a Peltier device and thermistor.
Our temperature controller is a Peltier control device that maintains a specified temperature regardless of external factors by controlling the current flowing through the Peltier element based on the resistance changes obtained from a thermistor using PID control. When the temperature control unit is removed from the semiconductor laser drive system, fluctuations in optical power and wavelength occur. When heat is added to a bubble, its volume expands. Additionally, the resistance value of the measured substance changes when temperature is either increased or decreased. When temperature is reduced from a photodiode, the dark current decreases. In this way, the temperature controller demonstrates its effectiveness in controlling temperature-dependent physical properties that exist in the world. The feature of this device is that it allows anyone to easily achieve temperature control with compensated accuracy of 1/100°C to 1/10°C by using a thermistor (with linear correction circuit) or a platinum sensor for the temperature sensor and flowing PID (proportional, integral, derivative) control current to the Peltier or heater. Sufficient consideration must be given to the mass of the constant temperature plate, the capacity of the heat sink for heat dissipation, and the capacity of the Peltier used, depending on the load capacity of the substance being temperature-controlled.
