Profitap TAP products, unlike inexpensive aggregation taps, are full-duplex taps (BreakoutTAP) that do not experience packet loss. Aggregation taps capture traffic in full-duplex mode, but there is a possibility of drops occurring on the capture port. On the other hand, in a full-duplex tap (BreakoutTAP), packets captured on two ports are copied to both ports. The receiving PC needs to have two NICs, but it can capture packets of all sizes and types from layers 1 to 7, including low-level errors and VLAN traffic, without any packet loss. Additionally, since there is no need to set an IP address, monitoring can be conducted with enhanced security and concealment.
