We introduce a new positive electrode material that solves the issue of "capacity degradation" that has been a challenge for conventional nickel-zinc batteries. This positive electrode material is based on the intercalation reaction of layered double hydroxides (LDH), which consist of divalent metal hydroxide ions and trivalent metal ions. The layered structure of LDH also helps to avoid capacity degradation caused by the nickel-zinc reaction, making it suitable as a positive electrode material. It contributes to the development of secondary batteries that excel in performance and safety, serving as an alternative to non-aqueous, acid-based secondary batteries. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationIntroduction to the practical examination of "zinc fuel cells" with excellent safety and storage properties. The electrochemical reduction of zinc is easy, but there are practical challenges in uniformly controlling the shape of large quantities of zinc. A method is needed to reduce zinc into a shape that facilitates "extraction from the electrolytic cell" and "introduction into air batteries." Aiming for the practical application of fuel cells that store energy in zinc instead of hydrogen, we are advancing the development of a generation method for zinc fuel that excels in storage and handling properties. 【Features】 ■ Round-trip efficiency: More than twice that of hydrogen ■ Fuel safety: High safety due to being solid ■ Catalyst cost: Inexpensive (activated carbon) *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce the research and development of a cancer screening test kit. "Calmodulin-binding peptide (CBP)" can be applied as a peptide aptamer for detecting midkine (MK) in screening test kits. Since it does not bind to similar epitopes, which is a challenge with antibodies, it has high specificity. Additionally, it can be manufactured using chemical synthesis methods, allowing for a cost reduction to less than 1/10 of conventional methods. [Features] ■ Binding affinity of MK-CBP - Strong intermolecular interactions confirmed ■ Specificity of MK-CBP binding - mtCBP (mutant type) showed high specificity for MK *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationIntroduction to the application of internal exposure prevention and reduction technology for the thyroid in food and beverages. Oral compositions containing cyclodextrin (CD) strongly encapsulate radioactive iodine in the gastrointestinal tract, inhibiting the absorption of radioactive iodine in the small intestine. As a result, internal exposure of the thyroid to radioactive iodine is reduced. Currently, we are working with international organizations related to radiation protection to include this technology in recommendations for nuclear disaster situations. 【Features】 - Usable for preventive purposes: Can be taken even when the risk of internal exposure to radioactive iodine is low. - Can be taken at individual discretion: Contains CD, which is also a food, and has almost no side effects. 【Intended Uses】 As food and pharmaceuticals containing cyclodextrin: - Use during nuclear disasters - Use for healthcare workers who have long-term contact with patients undergoing treatment with radioactive iodine *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThis is a technology that effectively utilizes food residues such as fruit peels and press cakes, which have been discarded in the processing stages as unused resources. To use the natural pigments contained in the peels of fruits like apples, grapes, and persimmons as food materials, it is important to obtain an extract of the pigments without using extraction solvents such as acids or methanol that would compromise the original flavor. This technology enables the simple and efficient production of a liquid that extracts the natural pigments and functional components contained in the fruit peels.

Free membership registrationIn functionalization through surface modification, there is a technology that forms fine patterns on the surface of the workpiece using high-energy lasers or machining. While these methods have the advantage of being able to produce highly precise patterns, they face challenges such as the high cost of equipment and the difficulty of processing three-dimensional objects. This technology enables the formation of fine patterns on three-dimensional objects in a simple and cost-effective manner by applying the optical property of speckle to lithography. Features of the new technology: - Fine processing technology utilizing speckle light - Formation of fine dot-like random resist patterns on the surface of parts (approximately a few to several hundred micrometers) - Ability to form patterns collectively on the circumferential surface of cylindrical parts - Ability to form patterns collectively on the surfaces of parts with steps (step surfaces of several tens of millimeters) The resist patterns formed by this technology are expected to provide functionality to the surface of the workpiece. (Improvements in water repellency, hydrophilicity, dirt resistance, lubricity, anti-reflection, antibacterial properties, and biocompatibility, etc.)

We prepared a nanobody-polysaccharide conjugate by chemically linking nanobodies to water-soluble polysaccharides, and it was confirmed that the sensitivity in the solid-phase ELISA using this conjugate was improved compared to using the nanobodies alone. ○Comparison with Conventional Technology In ELISA using nanobodies as a substitute for conventional antibodies, there was a challenge of inactivation due to solid-phase immobilization and detachment from the substrate. This technology allows for the improvement of ELISA detection sensitivity by using water-soluble polysaccharides as a scaffold for solid-phase immobilization of nanobodies. ○Features of the Technology - Application of nanobodies in sandwich ELISA - Water-soluble polysaccharides protect nanobodies - Improved binding affinity due to aggregation of nanobodies - Suppression of nonspecific adsorption

Free membership registration○Overview of the Technology By incorporating aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorescent materials into resin beads, it is possible to manufacture highly bright fluorescent beads that were not achievable with conventional fluorescent materials. Using these fluorescent beads enables the development of immunochromatography kits with higher sensitivity than before. ○Comparison with Conventional Technology 【Influenza】 Achieved a sensitivity increase of 1000 times compared to test kits using gold colloids as labeling substances. 【Novel Coronavirus】 Achieved a sensitivity increase of approximately 20 to 40 times compared to currently available test kits on the market. ○Features of the Technology - Utilizes AIE compounds as fluorescent materials - Developed highly bright fluorescent beads without concentration quenching - Developed a background reduction sheet for fluorescent immunochromatography - Developed immunochromatography kits with higher sensitivity than conventional products - A handheld ultraviolet irradiator has been developed.

Free membership registrationThis is a capacitive humidity sensor that combines polyimide, which has excellent heat resistance and chemical stability, with MWCNT (multi-walled carbon nanotubes) and SWCNT (single-walled carbon nanotubes), achieving a response time on the order of 10 ms, which is 100 times faster than conventional sensors. Carbon nanotubes (CNT) have a nanoscale mesh structure, making them gas-permeable electrodes. It is also important that the upper electrode does not hinder the movement of gas molecules; for example, in the case of a humidity sensor that permeates water vapor, high hydrophobicity can be expected to enable a fast response. This technology improves response speed, sensitivity, temperature change suppression, and durability compared to conventional humidity sensors by attaching CNT as the upper electrode to a thin film of polyimide, whose electrical properties change due to water vapor or gaseous chemicals.

Free membership registrationThis is a method to solve the issue of "incomplete infiltration" in tissue regeneration materials. Using vacuum-pressure infiltration, we were able to introduce cells deep into porous materials (e.g., collagen, PLA, etc.). Subsequent proliferation and differentiation have also been confirmed.
