Two measuring cylinders simultaneously measure "shear viscosity" and "extensional viscosity." Accurate measurements of corrected shear viscosity are achieved with high reproducibility. Furthermore, it allows for easy measurement of extensional viscosity, enabling the assessment of the material's essence. The Imatek R6000, with its flexible control software and robust frame to prevent measurement errors, significantly provides the precise information necessary for molding, offering new benchmarks for material design.

The flowability of polymers cannot be predicted because it is "non-linear." This is also why the melt index (MI), which should be an indicator of flowability, often does not match the actual moldability. The more complex flow known as elongational viscosity is particularly difficult to predict accurately, and the only way to obtain reliable data is to measure it in the same range as the actual molding speed.
