The Thermotech '2022 event held at Tokyo Big Sight has successfully concluded. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many customers who visited our booth. The most popular item was indeed the "hydrogen combustion burner." We received various questions and words of encouragement after watching the comparison video of hydrogen and natural gas combustion flames. We will continue to develop and refine the hydrogen burner to meet our customers' needs. Additionally, we received many requests for detailed information on other products, including environmental equipment (odor removal systems for on-site demonstrations), painting equipment (hybrid gas and electric), and aluminum alloy oxidation suppression furnaces, as well as surface combustion burners and package mixers. "Carbon Neutral Aluminum Melting Holding Furnace Developed by Shoei Manufacturing Co., Ltd." Published in "Steel News, October 23, 2023, Page 5." Shoei Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hirano Ward, Osaka City, Representative: Shota Habaki), a specialized manufacturer of industrial gas burners and industrial furnaces, has developed an aluminum melting holding furnace that enables decarbonization in aluminum casting sites, such as those for automotive parts. A new hydrogen gas burner that emits no CO2 during combustion has been adopted for the melting line. By placing high-efficiency immersion heaters in the holding line for the molten aluminum melted by hydrogen combustion, a thermal source configuration that enables carbon neutrality through "hydrogen × green electricity" has been achieved. A test furnace based on actual equipment has been newly established at the Thermal Technology Research Institute. We are accepting visits to observe hydrogen combustion and tests for actual aluminum melting. Amid uncertainties regarding future energy supply, we will contribute to the decarbonization of the manufacturing industry by applying the combustion technology and hybridization technology for thermal sources that we have cultivated so far.
