In the case of fine substrates that are turned into chips for products, even losing a part of the outer circumference due to the holder results in a loss. For expensive materials like crystal substrates, even a few sheets of loss cannot be overlooked. In response to clients' demands for cost-cutting, it was necessary to review the coating process. Our company has been solving customer challenges through film formation design and the provision of optical components, but for this issue, we focused on re-evaluating the substrate holding method. By improving the deposition axis and creating a method to secure from the top and sides, we made it possible to coat the entire surface of the substrate. Titanium nitride coating can be produced in a short time in the atmosphere by microwave irradiation

 In conventional titanium nitride coating, sputtering method, a method in which titanium ions and nitrogen gas ions are irradiated on a substrate, and a plasma CVD method are known.  Compared with these methods, the present invention uses nitrogen in air as a nitrogen source and does not require vacuum process. Therefore, the coating of titanium nitride can be performed at a low cost by a simple process, sliding property heat resistance and hardness can be easily added. The same effect can be obtained for ceramics as well as metals. In addition to titanium, nitrides such as chromium and manganese can be produced as coating materials.

**Overview** DLC films are formed by decomposing hydrocarbon gas in an arc discharge plasma under high vacuum, and by electrically accelerating ions and excited molecules in the plasma towards the substrate (product) with energy. Additionally, due to the dense amorphous structure of the DLC film, its surface is very smooth and free of crystal grain boundaries.
