Insulating coating for various shapes of busbars.

It is possible to add insulation and durability to the bus bar. Furthermore, its adhesion is also very excellent, so it does not easily peel off.

Insulation coating for busbars is widely done using epoxy resin. Unlike insulation methods using insulating sleeves or tubes, a uniform insulating coating can be formed on complexly shaped busbars. Additionally, epoxy resin has characteristics such as flame resistance, high insulation withstand voltage, and excellent moisture resistance. Thanks to our unique masking method, we can accommodate mass production even for complexly shaped conductive parts. ◆ What is a busbar? A busbar refers to a strip or bar made of copper that conducts electricity within distribution boards, switchboards, substations, battery banks, or electrical devices. In areas where high voltage and large currents flow, the absence of insulation coating allows for good heat dissipation, and increasing the surface area helps suppress high-frequency electrical resistance. ◆ What is insulation coating? It is a processing technology that possesses excellent electrical properties among resins and is used for applications such as insulating components, preventing electrolysis, and addressing charging issues. It is widely adopted not only for insulation films but also for improving product performance through partial coating.

Summary of Types and Characteristics of Super Engineering Plastics [Minoru Sangyo Co., Ltd.]

Super engineering plastics, referred to as "super engineering plastics," are a general term for engineering plastics that are particularly excellent in heat resistance and chemical resistance among engineering plastics.

Similar to engineering plastics, there is no clear definition for super engineering plastics, but their characteristic is that they have heat resistance of approximately 150°C or higher and can be used for long periods in high-temperature environments. Some super engineering plastics can even be used at temperatures above 260°C. Additionally, many super engineering plastics contain fluorine, which gives them high resistance to solvents and chemicals. Super engineering plastics that can be used in even higher temperature environments are not only applicable in areas where engineering plastics are used, but it is also noted that their molecular chains contain benzene rings. On the other hand, fluorine resins do not contain benzene rings, but they have the highest electronegativity, and the bond between carbon and fluorine is very stable, which gives them excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, and other properties, making them one of the super engineering plastics. For medical devices, they are adopted due to their high transparency and ability to withstand high temperatures from steam sterilization. However, while super engineering plastics are high-performance resins, they also come with a high cost. Nevertheless, the characteristics and cost advantages of super engineering plastics often outweigh the costs, leading to their active consideration.

Fluororesin Coating Course: What is Corrosion Resistance?

An easy-to-understand explanation of the types of durable coatings using diagrams and graphs!

For corrosion-resistant applications of fluororesin, there are broadly two categories: "sheet lining" and "baked coatings." In the case of sheet lining, a through-hole is created in part of the metal can body, allowing permeating substances that reach the metal to be released outside the system, thereby preventing extreme corrosion of the can body. In contrast, baked coatings differ in that they prevent the occurrence of corrosion by suppressing permeation. *For more details on corrosion-resistant coatings, please contact us or download our catalog for more information.*

Fluororesin Coating Course: What is Non-Stick and Release Coating?

A clear explanation of non-stick grades of fluoropolymer by application!

FEP resin has the lowest critical surface tension among fluoropolymers (17.8 dyn/cm), making it difficult for liquids to wet the surface (i.e., it has high non-stick properties). Additionally, it has the lowest adhesion energy (42.0 dyn/cm), which means that even wetted liquids can easily detach (i.e., it has high release properties). For this reason, FEP resin is used in various fields, from molding molds for rubber and resin products like golf balls to molding shapes for solid propellant fuels in space shuttles and Ariane rockets, as well as in applications ranging from rolls to large paint mixing tanks. *For more details on non-stick and release coatings, please contact us or download our catalog for more information.*

[Problem Solving Case] Wanted to reduce costs by substituting rolling bearings.

Cost reduction through the replacement of bearings in the rotating sliding parts of AT components! A case that ensures low friction.

We would like to introduce a case study of problem-solving using Japan MT's "Dry Lubrication Coating Dry Surface." There was a challenge of "using bearings to ensure a good feel and low friction during rotational motion, but it is difficult to reduce costs." In response, we implemented a PTFE coating on the inner surface as a simple bearing structure. This ensured low friction and made it possible to reduce the number of parts and control costs. [Key Points of Problem Solving] - The low-friction, sliding coating is formed with PTFE and a hard engineering plastic, and has a proven track record in sliding parts under light loads. - In fields where oil is used in conjunction, it is also possible to further reduce friction and wear, and in this case, the number of parts was reduced, contributing to cost savings. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem Solving Case] Adhesive film sticking to the cutting blade.

It is necessary to ensure the sharpness of the cutter while applying a non-stick treatment! Example of dry lubrication coating.

We would like to introduce a case study of problem-solving for special applications by Nippon MT Corporation. We were using non-coated products, but it was necessary to regularly remove adhesive substances, which significantly reduced productivity. Therefore, we processed with CE100C-MT. The adhesion of substances has decreased, resulting in less maintenance and replacement frequency. Additionally, the film thickness is about 2μm, allowing us to maintain sharpness. [Key Points of Problem Solving] - To make it difficult for adhesive substances to stick, Teflon coating is commonly used. - The film thickness of Teflon coating is about 20μm, so while it eliminates sticking for cutting tools, it may reduce sharpness and lead to other issues. - Generally, the processing temperature for Teflon coating is around 400°C, which can sometimes cause a decrease in the hardness of the cutting tool itself. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem Solving Case] Consideration of Seizing During Assembly of Stainless Steel Bottles

Assembly accuracy and productivity are smooth! A case where molybdenum disulfide demonstrated its performance!

We would like to introduce a case that solved the problem of "seizing occurring during the assembly of stainless steel bottles, making assembly impossible." We were using a PTFE-based coating, but due to insufficient surface pressure resistance of PTFE, we could not meet the performance requirements. Under high load and high surface pressure conditions, the initial break-in coating MD1610 proved effective, allowing for smoother assembly accuracy and productivity. [Key Points of Problem Solving] - Representative examples of solid lubricants include molybdenum disulfide, graphite, and PTFE, each having different load and temperature ranges in which they perform effectively. - In this case, PTFE was insufficient in performance under high load conditions, while molybdenum disulfide, with approximately three times the load-bearing capacity, demonstrated effective performance. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem-Solving Case] Measures to Prevent Bolt Seizure in Exhaust System Pipes

There may be a possibility of removal after use! Examples of dry lubrication coating on dry surfaces.

We would like to introduce a case that solved the problem of wanting to prevent the seizing of stainless steel in an environment of 800°C. We were using heat-resistant grease, but there was a possibility of smoke generation in high-temperature areas, and it could also cause difficulties in disassembly after many years of use. Therefore, by applying heat-resistant and wear-resistant coatings, we maintained low torque during assembly. Seizing was prevented even after prolonged use in high-temperature environments, resulting in improved reliability. [Key Points of Problem Solving] - Various components in high-temperature environments face various issues due to the high temperatures. - Friction and wear conditions are more severe at high temperatures than at room temperature, and the progression is also rapid. - Heat-resistant and wear-resistant coatings protect components even in such environments, and the action of solid lubricants can prevent seizing and galling over the long term. - This greatly contributes to improved reliability. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem-Solving Case] Wear Resistance Measures for the Sliding Parts of a Winding Machine

Due to the action of molybdenum disulfide, load-bearing capacity and low friction properties are provided! An example of a wear-resistant coating.

We would like to introduce a case that solved the problem of "increased load on components and accelerated wear due to the high-speed operation of machines." While hard chrome plating and other measures were applied at key points, fundamental wear countermeasures were not implemented, and there were components where maintaining precision was difficult with plating due to strict accuracy requirements. Additionally, the material was SK steel, which required processing at temperatures below 200°C to ensure strength. Therefore, we applied the wear-resistant coating MD2812. Thanks to the abundant molybdenum disulfide, initial wear is reduced, and the use of durable resin ensures low friction. The processing temperature is also below 200°C, so there is no impact on the components. [Key Points of Problem Solving] ■ Just being hard is not enough to prevent wear; this is the fundamental issue. ■ The action of molybdenum disulfide contained in the wear-resistant coating imparts load-bearing capacity and low friction. ■ Molybdenum disulfide transfers to the counterpart, creating an ideal surface condition on the opposing side. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem-Solving Case] Coating with High Thermal Conductivity and Insulation Properties

A case that combines a coating for heat dissipation and a highly insulating coating!

We would like to introduce a case study of problem-solving using Japan MT's "Dry Lubrication Coating Dry Surface." This involved the application of an insulating film on an aluminum cover for automotive motors, requiring an insulating coating with high thermal conductivity (heat absorption). Initially, we planned to use alumina thermal spraying, but it was very costly, and we needed to secure a film thickness of over 100μm, which posed precision issues. Therefore, we applied the insulating coating DC2830 to ensure insulation at around 20μm. Additionally, we applied the 8441MT coating on top, which also improved thermal issues. The processing temperature was below 200°C, with no impact on the aluminum. [Key Points of Problem Solving] ■ Insulation and thermal conductivity generally have opposing properties. ■ In this case, we attempted to meet both performance requirements by combining a coating that dissipates heat with a highly insulating coating. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
