【Vacuum Plating and Coating Examples】Classic Cars, Gundam Model Kits

Gundam model kits and classic cars, as well as other small items, can be processed into various materials using dry plating (vacuum deposition)!

One of the products we have previously coated is this classic car that looks like it could start moving at any moment. We have experience in applying plating to Gunpla as well. Many of the items we coat are done so out of a sense of playfulness, and Gunpla is one of them. The Gunpla "Sazabi" shown in this image is actually displayed at the entrance of our office. As a result, we have received many positive comments and requests for sale from customers who visit our company. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

【Vacuum Coating and Painting Examples】Shells, Mallet, Tai Fish Object

Dry plating (vacuum deposition) can be processed on various materials. It can express vibrant colors and is suitable for everything from small items to large exhibition displays.

The other day, while having a BBQ, I had a spark of curiosity and playfulness, wondering if coating seashells with metal would make them interesting, and I actually went ahead with the processing. I believe the result has a unique texture while also presenting an interesting flavor. Also, if someone were to ask what comes to mind when thinking of the mallet of luck or sea bream, what would you first think of? ⇒ It would likely be related to the Seven Lucky Gods, prosperity in business, or money. We have been applying shiny plating to these items, which are said to bring good fortune, since the time of our predecessors. As a result, we are helping to further enhance good luck so that everyone can receive blessings, with a celebratory (sea bream) touch. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

【Vacuum Coating and Painting Examples】For detailed items such as mirror rice cakes and origami-style cranes.

Meiwa Vacuum can perform plating processing in various sizes, from life-sized mannequins and large parts to small components.

Introducing auspicious items that we have processed with plating. (1) Kagami Mochi This is something we processed in a prototype in the past. It is beautifully finished from any angle, and the curved lines of the kagami mochi reflect light, showcasing its color. (2) Origami-style Golden Crane The crane is also a symbol of good fortune, and this one has been processed in a golden color. Depending on the viewing angle, it can appear like origami or an inorganic object, making it an interesting piece. Just displaying it in an entrance or similar area brings good fortune and makes for a piece that never gets boring. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

【Vacuum Coating and Painting Examples】 Bells, Chimes, Handbells

Dry plating (vacuum deposition) can be processed on various materials. In addition to vibrant colors, it can also be transformed into a rough texture or a luxurious appearance.

Meiwa Vacuum's plating processing can accommodate everything from mass production to single items such as prototypes. We can handle everything from mold creation to injection molding and plating processing in a consistent manner. 【Case Study】 This bell is one of the items we have processed and delivered. As can be seen in the photo, the gloss and sparkle are remarkable, resulting in a wonderful color and texture. Additionally, the gold bell in the back right has undergone a plating process known as "shrinkage." This creates wrinkles on the surface of the bell, transforming its appearance to a rough, luxurious feel. Of course, we can apply various colors and shrinkage treatments to any color at our company. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

Differences between wet plating and dry plating (vacuum plating) in surface treatment and coating processes.

Did you know that "plating," which is done for decoration, corrosion protection, and functionality, can be broadly classified into two categories? *Explanatory materials are currently available.

The main difference between dry plating and wet plating is whether or not a water solution is used during the plating process. ▼ Wet Plating The object is immersed in a solution, utilizing electrolysis or chemical reactions to form a coating. ▼ Dry Plating (Vacuum Plating) After initially applying a coating to the object, this plating technique involves evaporating metals or metal oxides in a vacuum state to form a "thin metal film" on the surface of the object. ★ This method is used for various applications, such as forming thin or special films and plating non-metals, so our company performs plating processing using commonly available materials. Please check other pages as well. We are currently offering a document summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of vacuum plating in PDF format. *For more details, please download the catalog or contact us. Meiwa Vacuum Co., Ltd. has nearly half a century of experience. We can provide a consistent response from mold creation to injection molding and plating processing.

What is vacuum plating for surface treatment and coating?

Plating processing is possible on a wide range of materials (various plastics, metals), and there are also colorful and diverse plating options available.

Dry plating (vacuum plating) is a method where, after applying a coating to the target object, metal pieces (such as aluminum, chrome, and others) are vapor-deposited in a vacuum deposition device (where the metal pieces are electrically dissolved and plated in a vacuum state). Meiwa Vacuum Co., Ltd. has approximately half a century of experience. Additionally, Meiwa Vacuum's plating processing can accommodate everything from mass production to single items like prototypes. We can provide a consistent service from mold creation to injection molding and plating processing. ★ It is used for various applications, such as forming thin films, special films, and plating on non-metals, so we perform plating processing with everyday items. Please take a look at our other pages as well. * For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.

We are making efforts to process various materials using vacuum coating technology.

We are challenging the processing of various materials, such as waste materials for the SDGs and expanded polystyrene, using dry plating (vacuum deposition).

■ We can handle everything from mold creation to injection molding and plating in a consistent manner. At Meiwa Vacuum, we can take care of everything from mold creation to injection molding, painting, and plating. We also accept requests for painting only, such as UV clear coating. Additionally, as an outsourcing partner for plating, we have nearly half a century of experience and high technical skills to meet our customers' needs. ■ We can perform plating on a wide range of items, from small to large. Meiwa Vacuum can handle plating on various sizes, from large parts like life-sized mannequins to small parts used in car audio systems. There are not many companies that can perform plating on large materials typically used in exhibitions and store displays. ■ We accommodate both large lots and single items. We also handle plating for prototypes and individual items brought in by customers. For large lot items, we work on decorations for toys and pachinko machines, as well as Buddhist implements. We also accommodate reflective mirrors, ornaments, and prototypes. Please feel free to contact us first.

Kawahara Plating Works Nickel Chrome

Nickel is a useful metal that is widely used not only in plating but also as an alloy such as stainless steel and magnetic steel.

Nickel is a metal similar to iron, but it is much more stable against air and moisture than iron, which is why it is used in plating for both decorative and anti-corrosive purposes.
