This document introduces the examination of automatic pretreatment using hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid for the decomposition (melting) of silica (SiO2) with the use of "DEENA2." Silica (SiO2 and its compounds) involves complicated reagent addition operations in acid decomposition, making it very labor-intensive. Additionally, there are concerns about human exposure to acidic reagents like hydrofluoric acid, which poses risks during analysis. Introducing a case study of Brodisk, which has been adopted by a major chemical materials manufacturer.

This is a project for a major chemical materials manufacturer. At the polyester resin manufacturing plant, there was a blockage of raw material powder and flakes in the raw material hopper, and we were consulted for a solution. We provided guidance on a standard model (Brodie Disk: BD-15) and its layout. However, since the discharge outlet was relatively small for the material properties, we recommended adding a Brodie Disk Mini nearby, leading to the implementation as shown.
