In this case, it is important to ensure that the work can be done safely, with high precision, minimal variation, and quickly. For this purpose, a work tool that has a structure allowing for the positioning and fixing of parts is called a jig. The term "jig" in English refers specifically to "tool alignment and guiding mechanism." It is similar to mechanisms referred to as bushes and guides in cutting processes. In Japanese, the term "jig" includes not only "tool alignment and guiding mechanism" but also the meaning of "mounting device" for positioning and securing the workpiece, which is used in machines like machining centers and lathes to clamp the work. Among our customers, inspection tools, automatic machines, and dedicated machines are collectively referred to as jigs and tools.
