We have successfully developed a powdered resol-type phenolic resin with thermal self-curing properties that does not contain hexamine (a curing agent), which is a major cause of odor generation. RILSAN (Polyamide 11, PA11)

By pressing the seeds of "castor bean," which can be cultivated even in barren land where edible plants do not grow, we can obtain "castor oil." Arkema synthesizes 11-aminoundecanoic acid (PA11 monomer) by chemically processing castor oil and is the only company in the world that manufactures and sells polyamide 11 (PA11, nylon 11) under the brand name Rilsan. Rilsan has obtained the biomass mark established by the Japan Organic Resources Association and has been certified as biomass plastic by the Japan Bioplastics Association, being listed on the positive list.
