Composite products made from synthetic rubber, resin, and metal materials are difficult to process with other methods, but with water jet cutting, we can easily perform custom dimension cutting and hole drilling for fixing.

A workpiece with a cross-section formed by integrally combining resin with high strength, heat resistance, sliding properties, low wear, lightweight, and chemical resistance, and stainless steel with excellent properties such as heat resistance, processability, and strength, was cut for cross-sectional inspection. The cutting was done using a water jet, which does not apply continuous stresses such as heat or vibration to the material. However, after starting the half-split cutting in a state where the product specifications were completely fine, when approaching the center, some areas were damaged due to the release of stress caused by the differences in expansion and contraction of the materials. Due to the hardness difference between the aggregates and cement, cutting with a water jet can be performed with minimal impact, unlike other cutting devices that are prone to damage. This makes it suitable for strength testing and internal inspection cutting.

Brass, known for its high electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, excellent hot forgeability, and high machinability, is used in applications such as watches and precision parts that require cutting. However, when it comes to long-length and thick plate processing, water jet cutting has been proposed and adopted as a suitable method. C2801P, the most commonly circulated material as brass plates, is also handled extensively in water jet cutting, ranking third after aluminum and copper. While achieving precision in machining processes can be challenging (±0.5mm), the cutting width is small (approximately 1mm), allowing for reduced cutting pitch. This enables processing two pieces from a single supplied material, contributing to improved yield rates. Brass plates can be produced with a thickness ranging from about 0.1mm to 100mm, accommodating a certain level of precision.

EVA foam is a soft, elastic, and highly durable material that does not produce dioxins when incinerated, making it an environmentally friendly option. It does not contain endocrine disruptors and meets the standards of the Food Sanitation Act. Although it is a foamed material, it is high-density and sturdy, combining elasticity and flexibility, making it slip-resistant and quiet, while leaving no marks on floors or walls. Due to its low hardness, water jet cutting is used, and considering verticality and the occurrence of cuts, it is cut to a thickness of 60mm. It is further bonded with a safe and environmentally friendly adhesive, resulting in a total thickness of 240mm. Regarding processing data, it can be converted from various media such as image data and drawing data.

However, prioritizing the confirmation of the axis center, we accepted the risk of damage or loss of other parts and took measures to maintain stability in areas that could become unstable during cutting, and proceeded with the two-part cut. There are various welding methods available to firmly join dissimilar materials, such as heat welding, ultrasonic welding, and high-frequency induction welding, to meet diverse needs. The commercially available cement concrete slabs measuring 60mm × 300mm × 300mm were cut to a size of 200mm × 200mm with rounded corners, taking into consideration the strength after cutting. In the test cuts, most of the aggregate used was crushed stone, and since the size and density of the aggregate were not consistent, the cutting conditions varied significantly.
