The famous cherry blossom spot, "Hirano Shrine" in Kyoto, features a torii kami-gaku cut from A5052 aluminum with the characters "Hirano Kōtaijin" measuring 15mm x 550mm x 1810mm. The surrounding frame measures 10mm x 1085mm x 2215mm. After the water jet cutting, the gold-colored parts of the surface are finished not with paint but with gold leaf at the request of the client, and the receiving brackets are also beautifully finished with excellent craftsmanship.

Due to its high hardness, tendency to oxidize, and uneven thickness, water jet cutting was chosen. There were various issues with small piece cutting on our equipment, making continuous processing difficult. However, with some leeway in the allowable tolerances, we devised a setting and cutting method to perform continuous cutting of 10mm squares. There were no issues such as abrasive particle embedding on the cutting surface, and after testing and verification of the cutting, we received a formal order.
