Features of Silvec's Chrome Plating 1. The appearance of the underlying nickel plating is directly reflected in the appearance after chrome plating. For example, applying chrome plating to a product with glossy nickel plating that has been buff-polished will yield a mirror-like finish. Similarly, if the material is buff-polished and then chrome plated over velour nickel plating, the velour's matte texture will remain visible. 2. Compliant with the RoHS directive. (Although hexavalent chromium is used in the plating solution, it precipitates as metallic chromium in the product, allowing compliance with the RoHS directive.) 3. Hexavalent chromium plating is difficult to apply to areas such as weak electrical components, which may result in exposed nickel on the backside of complex shapes. Due to this characteristic, barrel plating is not permitted. In some cases, fine screws may be plated at the back with mesh attachment, but currently, our company only performs stationary plating using jigs. We repeatedly tested various storage conditions before soldering, and consistently achieved stable high solder wetting properties, securing the desired soldering strength, which led to orders for mass production.

We received an inquiry from a major pharmaceutical manufacturer. We conducted a trial using our soldering nickel plating "Solderable Nickel Plating," and as a result of the evaluation, it was found that the solder wettability was stable and equivalent to that of tin, leading to mass production.
