We would like to introduce a case study on measures taken to address perceptible vibrations caused by the operation of a ceiling-mounted air conditioning indoor unit. In a clinic on the 12th floor of an existing building, perceptible vibrations were occurring on the desk in the examination room due to the operation of the ceiling-mounted air conditioning indoor unit below. We will introduce a case study on measures to address solid noise (noise) from air conditioning outdoor units. An air conditioning outdoor unit installed on the rooftop of an office building was generating solid noise on the floor directly below when it entered defrost mode. Although the outdoor unit was equipped with rubber pads for vibration isolation, the vibration isolation performance of the rubber pads was minimal, allowing the vibrations from the outdoor unit to propagate to the building structure and cause solid noise on the floor below. As a countermeasure, we proposed replacing it with a spring vibration isolation device. Adopts a pneumatic system using compressed air. A shock testing device with excellent reproducibility.

AVEX is a shock testing device that employs a pneumatic method utilizing compressed air to generate shock waveforms (half-wave sine wave, sawtooth wave, SRS wave) with a wide range of (shock acceleration - shock time) characteristics in a short stroke. This device generates shock waveforms and applies them to samples mounted on a sample stage (which performs rising and falling motions). The operation involves the sample stage slowly rising and pausing at a set height, and after a few seconds, using high pressure (compressed air) within a cylinder (incorporated inside the main body) to forcefully drop the sample stage, generating a shock wave by striking it against impact pads (fixed to the main body). The impact pads (pulse generators and elastomers) can be replaced and selected according to the type of waveform desired (mainly half-wave sine wave, trapezoidal wave, and sawtooth wave). The characteristics of the desired waveform (shock acceleration - shock time) are determined by two conditions: the height of the sample stage's rise and the pressure value within the cylinder (the settings for height and pressure will vary depending on the weight of the sample, even for the same waveform).
