What are heat-resistant materials? An introduction focusing on polymers and resins.

We will introduce heat-resistant materials with high thermal resistance among polymer, resin, and plastic.

Heat-resistant materials refer to those that possess stability against high temperatures and experience little to no degradation. - Polyimide (PI) A resin with very high heat resistance, usable over an extremely wide temperature range. It is widely used in electronics, aerospace, and the automotive industry, particularly where performance at high temperatures is required. - Polybenzimidazole (PBI) PBI has very high heat resistance and remains stable even under high-temperature conditions exceeding 500°C, depending on the circumstances. It is used in aerospace and fire-resistant applications. - Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) With high heat resistance and excellent durability in high-temperature environments, PEEK is utilized in various fields, including aerospace, the automotive industry, and medical devices, due to its outstanding chemical resistance and mechanical properties. - Polyethersulfone (PES) A resin with high heat resistance and chemical resistance, PES is used in the automotive industry, medical devices, and electronic components. - Silicone Resin Known for its excellent heat resistance and usability over a wide temperature range, silicone resin also possesses weather resistance, chemical resistance, and excellent electrical insulation properties. It is widely used in electronic components, waterproof coatings, and high-temperature sealing materials.

What is the difference between Teflon and fluoropolymer?

I will explain in detail the differences between Teflon and fluoropolymer, which are often confused.

■Difference Between Teflon and Fluoropolymer Teflon is a trademark of Chemours and is a brand name for fluoropolymers. Fluoropolymers include various types such as PTFE, FEP, PFA, and ETFE, but Teflon is a trademark for some of these. Teflon is a registered trademark of DuPont, represented by the 'R mark', while Chemours uses the 'TM mark'. Teflon-coated frying pans have popularized the term "Teflon coating" in society. Nowadays, the name Teflon is more well-known than the term fluoropolymer. Other chemical manufacturers also produce fluoropolymers, which are marketed under different product names. Industrial Teflon processing can be done at factories that have entered into licensing agreements with Chemours (DuPont). Yoshida SKT signed a contract with DuPont in January 1968 to become a Licensed Industrial Applicator (designated factory for industrial coatings).

Fundamentals and mechanisms of superabsorbent polymers, as well as technologies for imparting biodegradability and their application developments.

High absorbent resins, primarily for hygienic purposes, are expanding in the market! With increasing demand from emerging countries, a presentation focused on materials in this field, where demand is tightening!

**Lecture Summary** Superabsorbent polymers are experiencing market expansion, particularly in hygiene applications. However, the reality is that current products are made from petroleum, and despite containing a large amount of moisture after use, many of them are incinerated. If superabsorbent polymers could be made from natural materials that are renewable resources and could also be endowed with biodegradability, it is expected that various issues could be resolved. In this lecture, I will clearly explain the characteristics and challenges of current superabsorbent polymers, as well as specific methods and significance of imparting biodegradability, and I would like to consider the future ideal state of superabsorbent polymers.

Stability confirmation test of the electrical property modification of composite olefin resin.

This is the test result confirming the stability of the electrical properties modification of composite olefin resin.

Olefin resins, which are non-polar plastics made only from carbon and hydrogen, are represented by polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), both of which are produced in large quantities as materials through addition polymerization and are utilized in various molded products that benefit our daily lives. PE is adjusted for density and undergoes post-processing stretching treatments to change its crystallinity for different applications; generally, it is soft and commonly known for low-temperature injection molded products and packaging films. In contrast, PP, with a melting point of 165°C and a density of 0.9, has high crystallinity and excellent chemical resistance, as well as toughness that allows it to withstand long-term use under conditions of over 100°C with applied pressure. A wide variety of durable products are made from it, ranging from injection molded items like large containers to extruded products such as various industrial functional films and bags, as well as hollow molded products like bottles. For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.

Rigid urethane <Regarding thickness>

We will introduce the necessary wall thickness for producing sound molded products!

Here is an introduction to the thickness of rigid polyurethane. Molded products made from rigid polyurethane are not as impact-resistant compared to other general-purpose plastic materials. Therefore, to produce sound molded products, a foam molding process requires an average thickness of 10mm or more, with a minimum thickness of 4mm in certain areas. In addition, for non-foamed molding, an average thickness of 6mm or more and a minimum thickness of 2mm in certain areas are necessary. 【Required Thickness】 ■ Foam Molding - Average Thickness: 10mm or more - Minimum Thickness in Certain Areas: 4mm ■ Non-Foamed Molding - Average Thickness: 6mm or more - Minimum Thickness in Certain Areas: 2mm *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
