[Case Study] Switching to FUNMAT PRO410 for Complex Jig Manufacturing

Significant reduction in lead time is possible! Introducing case studies from automotive parts manufacturers.

We will introduce a case study from an automotive parts manufacturer. In this case, inspection jigs for automotive parts were produced using PC+ABS and were utilized for inspections and other purposes. Traditionally, complex-shaped inspection jigs were manufactured through aluminum machining, but due to the lengthy production time, they successfully reduced the manufacturing time by outputting with the 3D printer "INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 410." Additionally, by utilizing a 3D printer instead of machining for consumable parts of their own production equipment, they have shortened lead times, allowing them to quickly resume operations even if parts break, thus avoiding delays in production. [Overview] ■ Customer Name: Major Automotive Parts Manufacturer ■ Industry: Automotive ■ Application: Quality control measuring instruments and production equipment development ■ Materials: PolyLite ABS/PC+ABS/PEEK, etc. ■ 3D Printer: FUNMAT PRO 410 *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Case study: Quickly producing yacht parts with a 3D printer.

Realizing printing with high-performance materials! Introducing examples of utilization in custom-made yachts.

At Sea 3D, we wanted to immediately use the parts we printed on our yacht, so we researched 3D printers. Based on the recommendation of Windforce, a specialist in additive manufacturing in Spain, we decided to purchase the INTAMSYS industrial 3D printer "FUNMAT." As we deepened our understanding of 3D printing technology, we were able to select appropriate materials, quickly master the desired shapes, and rapidly produce functional parts for the yacht. Additionally, since the "FUNMAT HT" can accommodate various materials, we have successfully reduced extra costs by testing different filaments. [Implementation Effects] - We can now rapidly produce functional parts for the yacht. - Compared to traditional production methods, we can manage costs more accurately. - By testing various filaments, we have reduced extra costs. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Technical Introduction] High-strength Aluminum Alloy for Metal 3D Printers

It demonstrates a high tensile strength of about 400 to 500 MPa without causing distortion!

At JAMPT, we are working on utilizing a new aluminum alloy powder for metal 3D printers in new applications through additive manufacturing, based on a patent implementation agreement. In the realm of aluminum alloy powders for metal 3D printing, the Al-10%Si-0.4%Mg alloy is widely known. The newly developed alloy with added Mn has been confirmed to exhibit high tensile strength of around 400-500 MPa without causing distortion. For the manufacturing process, a laser-based metal 3D printer is used, and there is no need to perform the conventional T6 treatment (solution treatment at 530°C ⇒ water quenching ⇒ aging). 【Chemical Composition (%)】 ■Si: 7 ■Mg: 0.7 ■Fe: ≦0.3 ■Mn: 1.5 ■Al: bal. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Comparison of Features between Electron Beam and Laser Beam Methods in Metal 3D Printing

Comparing the output and layer thickness of the "electron beam method" and the "laser beam method"!

Our company offers contract manufacturing services using metal 3D printers. In metal 3D printers that use metal powder, there are two types of heat sources for melting the powder: "electron beam" and "laser beam." The "electron beam" has a higher output compared to the "laser beam," resulting in faster manufacturing speeds. In the "electron beam" method, a pre-sintered state is created to prevent the charging of metal powder, and since it is manufactured at high temperatures, there is less residual stress after manufacturing. This also reduces distortion and cracking due to internal stress, and less support material is required. In the "laser beam" method, smaller powder particle sizes are used, which results in slower manufacturing speeds, but it excels in surface roughness of the manufactured products and is suitable for creating relatively fine structures. 【Features】 ■ Electron Beam Method - Fast manufacturing speed - Requires less support material, providing excellent cost competitiveness - Almost no residual stress occurs after manufacturing, suppressing distortion and cracking due to internal stress ■ Laser Beam Method - Uses powder with small particle sizes - Extremely excellent surface roughness of the products, suitable for creating fine structures *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
