We would like to introduce a case study involving the implementation of the ball reduction gear 'BR Series' with a simple waterproof specification. In production lines using reduction gears, there was a challenge where moisture intrusion into the gear was confirmed under specific conditions. This trend was particularly observed in equipment involved in cleaning processes, environments prone to condensation, or outdoor usage, where exposure to moisture was frequent. As a result of the implementation, moisture intrusion into the reduction gear was significantly suppressed. Issues such as rusting of internal components and emulsification or degradation of grease were resolved, allowing the original lubrication state of the reduction gear to be maintained over an extended period. We would like to introduce a case study of the air index table 'MT Series' that we handle, which has been equipped with waterproof specifications. In applications exposed to high humidity environments or direct water splashes, such as food-related equipment and washing lines that use water, moisture intrusion into the MT interior was a challenge depending on the usage. To address this issue, we implemented measures to apply "waterproof specifications" to the MT. This has extended the stable operating period of the equipment and significantly reduced the occurrence of unexpected stoppages and the need for maintenance work associated with them. We would like to introduce a case where the introduction of the "PDW Series," which involved changing to a three-phase induction motor, successfully addressed the challenge of controlling indexing speed. The standard specification includes a single-phase induction motor, which has the limitation of operating at a constant speed due to its characteristics. As a result, there were cases where production sites raised more advanced demands to control the indexing speed according to the type of workpiece and the situation of the process. We proposed a solution to change the motor combined with the Pearl Decks to a "three-phase induction motor." This allowed for flexible adjustment of indexing speed through rotational speed control using an inverter. [Challenges] ■ There is a need for variable speed control to optimize takt time, such as low-speed operation to suppress vibrations during workpiece transport or high-speed operation to maximize production capacity. We were considering using a timing belt drive for the inversion device of large substrates to address backlash issues. However, as we used it, dust generation due to wear and maintenance challenges from belt elongation became problematic, prompting us to explore other drive methods. After implementation, we achieved non-backlash and low-dust operation. We were considering the TCG runner "CPC/CRC4012 model" for the transfer of heavy loads, but since the load of the transported items exceeded the cam rack's allowable load, we were exploring other transportation methods.
