Among the damages to transported goods within Japan, a significant portion, accounting for 77%, is caused by dynamic stress believed to result from substantial external forces applied to packaged goods, such as "breakage, bending, denting, and deformation." The drop test is an evaluation of the durability of packaging against impacts during transportation and handling. The test involves dropping the test specimen from specified heights and directions to check for any damage and to confirm protective performance. It is conducted based on standards such as JIS, ISO, and ASTM.
