JIS Z 0200 Transport Testing

JIS Z 0200 (General Test Method for Evaluation) is a Japanese industrial standard based on the content of ISO 4180, which specifies test methods to evaluate whether the protection of packaging against vibrations, drop impacts, and compression occurring during the distribution process is adequate. (Revised in March 2013) It consists of a main body and appendices; the main body is created by modifying the technical content based on ISO 4180 to reflect unique Japanese circumstances, while Appendices A and B are described without altering the content of ISO 4180. The basic test sequence consists of four tests: pre-treatment, drop, vibration, and compression tests. If the hazards during the distribution process are known, "CASE 1" should be adopted; if they are not known, "CASE 2" should be adopted, and it is advisable to plan the packaging tests considering the test levels. For those interested in packaging evaluation tests, please contact the following: ◆◆ Contact person: 0466-41-0267 (Omata) / 0466-41-0262 (Ishii) / 0466-41-0265 (Kitagawa) ◆◆

JIS Z 0200 Packaging of Goods - General Principles for Performance Testing Methods

Based on the content of ISO 4180, this is a testing method for evaluating the packaging of packaged goods against vibrations, drop impacts, and compression during the distribution process.

The document consists of two parts: the main body and the annexes. The main body is created based on ISO 4180, with technical content modified to reflect Japan's unique circumstances, while Annexes A and B are presented without changes to the content of ISO 4180: 2009. (Currently, ISO 4180: 2019 has been issued, so it is recommended to refer to the latest version for the application of Annex A unless there are special reasons.) ▼ For more details, please download the PDF materials. Vibration Test Long Duration Continuous Operation

Vibration testing for long-term continuous vibration of large palletized cargo for the automotive industry.

Our testing facility is equipped with multiple vibration testing machines, and we select the appropriate machine based on the size, mass, and testing conditions (such as excitation direction, effective acceleration, frequency range, etc.) of the test samples. (The excitation table has a maximum size of 1500×1500 mm for both vertical and horizontal testing, allowing for large cargo handling. Loading onto the excitation table can be accommodated with forklift operations.) In particular, in the automotive and electrical/electronic industries, it is not uncommon to conduct long-duration continuous vibration tests for packaging and product durability evaluations from the perspective of packaging and product quality assessment during the distribution process. We are prepared to conduct long-duration vibration tests, including weekends and nights, under the following system: ✓ We have established a remote monitoring system using surveillance cameras. ✓ During the night, we will conduct excitation operations with unmanned driving. ✓ The testing facility has a security system in place with access control managed by card entry and exit. * The method of securing test samples will be determined through prior consultation.

What is packaging? Free presentation of basic knowledge explanation materials.

Classified into individual packaging, internal packaging, and external packaging! It has important functions in the distribution process.

When reflecting on the logistics environment from some time ago, it seems that there was a relatively high volume of transportation of large packaged goods through business-to-business (B to B) transactions. However, with the recent proliferation of the internet leading to transactions between companies and individual consumers (B to C) through online shopping and e-commerce sites, as well as the expansion of transactions between individual consumers (C to C) via flea market apps and auction sites, the logistics environment has undergone significant changes, including a rapid increase in small parcel mixed cargo. In addition to receiving products packaged in cardboard boxes, it is likely that opportunities to package and ship products yourself have also increased. Many of you may have had the experience of carefully protecting and packaging a product to ensure it does not break, and feeling relieved when it arrives safely. *For more detailed information, please refer to the attached PDF document. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.*

What are the factors behind packaging cargo accidents? Free explanatory materials on basic knowledge provided.

In Japan, most of the damage to transported cargo is caused by dynamic stress!

There are not a few cases where damage occurs during the distribution process of packaged goods until they arrive at their destination. Among the damages to transported goods within Japan, a significant portion, accounting for 77%, is caused by dynamic stress believed to result from substantial external forces applied to packaged goods, such as "breakage, bending, denting, and deformation." To reduce the risk of damage to packaging and products during the general distribution process (both domestic and international) and to improve product reliability, it is important to conduct packaging tests in advance to confirm the appropriateness of packaging specifications and the strength of the products themselves. *For detailed information, please refer to the attached PDF document. For more information, feel free to contact us.*

What is packaging testing? Free presentation of basic knowledge explanation materials.

It is used in many industries because it can evaluate the strength and durability of packaging necessary to protect products during transportation!

Packaging testing refers to the evaluation of the durability of products and packaged goods against physical impacts such as drop shocks, vibrations, and compression from stacking, as well as changes in temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure during the distribution process (transportation). It is conducted to verify product quality in advance and to prevent damage during actual transportation. Since it can assess the strength and durability of packaging necessary to protect products during transport, it is used in many industries. Packaging testing comprehensively applies transportation load stresses such as "drop shocks," "vibrations," and "compression" that are encountered in the series of transport environments from shipment to delivery, in order to confirm the appropriateness of packaging specifications and the protective nature of the products. It is generally conducted in accordance with official packaging testing standards. *For detailed information, please refer to the attached PDF document.
