Therefore, we have jointly developed a sensor system with the Kagawa Prefectural Industrial Technology Center to detect the slipping of the object being gripped with high precision. This sensor has a unique structure that combines a parallel spring and a detection element, allowing it to detect and measure slipping within the gripping surface of the chuck, regardless of the shape or size of the object being held. Additionally, it utilizes two types of detection elements: strain gauges and piezoelectric films, enabling it to respond to both static and dynamic slipping. It can detect slips of workpieces on the order of 0.1 mm and employs the technology from the pending patent JP2022-92993.
