Signs of bearing abnormalities are not visible unless measured above 10 kHz.

Condition monitoring of rotating machinery: Why should we measure above 10 kHz?

"Why can't we detect abnormalities quickly?" The reason lies in the measurement frequency range. Initial damage to bearings cannot be captured below the conventional 1kHz. This white paper summarizes the reasons why high-frequency measurements (10kHz to 30kHz) change predictive maintenance.

Example: Predicting failures through the integration of devices and spatial data. Free materials available.

Advanced predictive maintenance utilizing Azure Databricks. Detection accuracy that takes into account changes in the surrounding environment.

We will explain our (NTP) achievements in building an advanced failure prediction model that combines equipment data with spatial data. In addition to IoT sensor data such as equipment vibration and pressure, we integrated surrounding environmental data, such as pedestrian flow and material placement obtained from LiDAR and cameras, along a time axis. As a result, we successfully visualized the "impact of environmental changes on equipment," which had previously been difficult to capture, significantly improving the accuracy of abnormal signal detection. The case of digital twin implementation through a near-real-time dashboard directly contributes to stable operations on-site. Please download our support achievement document summarizing the actual implementation scheme and results for free right now.

What is a Temperature Power Sensor (TPS)?

It is the world's hit product, the bimetallic control thermostat (TPS).

The Temperature Power Sensor (TPS) is the product name for Matsuo's bimetallic control thermostat. Please refer to it as TPS. It is a globally successful product created by Matsuo. Traditionally, bimetal thermostats were mostly disk-type protectors, and there were very few that could be used as controllers. Matsuo began challenging this difficult field (bimetallic control thermostats) in 1975 and started full-scale sales in 1980. For more details, please download the catalog.

Principle of Temperature Power Sensor

This is a control-type thermostat developed with the goal of being small and low-priced.

The principle of the temperature power sensor is the "control-type thermostat," developed with the goal of providing a high-performance bimetal thermostat that can be used as a controller in a compact and low-cost form. It combines a sharp jumping spring with a semi-permanent lifespan and a flat bimetal that does not experience material distortion, using two bimetals to increase sensitivity. The sharp jumping spring made of beryllium copper guarantees the high performance of the small DIFF. thermostat, switching ON/OFF with an extremely small hysteresis (approximately 0.05 m/m), which corresponds to about 3 degrees when converted to temperature. It can withstand over 2 million cycles of repeated operation. For more details, please download the catalog.

Comparison of characteristics between temperature power sensors and disk-type thermometers.

We will compare the lifespan of temperature power sensors and disc-type thermostats.

We will compare the characteristics of the temperature power sensor (controller) and the disk-type thermostat (protector). The lifespan of the "temperature power sensor" is 100,000 cycles at rated load (within the range of no temperature change) and 7 million cycles at minimal load (within the range of no temperature change), while the "disk-type thermostat" has a lifespan of 10,000 cycles for use as a protector (within the range of not becoming inoperative). Both have a contact configuration that turns OFF with rising temperature and turns ON with rising temperature, but the "temperature power sensor" has transfer contacts. For more details, please download the catalog.
