Tracing the origin of this discussion, it was mentioned as an example of interference in an introduction to a certain Wi-Fi connection verification app, where "microwaves, baby monitors, and Christmas lights" were listed. The interference between microwaves and Wi-Fi is a well-known issue. Additionally, it is easy to imagine that baby monitors transmit audio and video using wireless technology. It wouldn't be surprising if other household appliances we regularly use also interfere with wireless LAN signals.
