Radiation immunity testing measures using electric field probes

[Application Example] Introduction of the EMS (Immunity) Pre-evaluation System

Instead of bringing the equipment under test (EUT) to the EMC test site and conducting immunity tests multiple times, a simplified interference wave test can be performed. By operating a dedicated program, the electric field strength of the radiated interference wave is set. Following the GUI screen instructions, the electric field probe measures the target area (up to 4 locations). To enhance test accuracy, calibration data with high degrees of freedom is automatically created by changing the position of the probe. 【Solution】 An electric field probe is installed on the EUT setup stage inside the anechoic chamber. Calibration data is automatically generated by the test software according to the size of the EUT. (1) The electric field probe is placed at any position on the stage. (2) Align with the EUT surface facing the antenna and measure the electric field strength (up to 4 locations). (3) Record calibration data for each position according to the target frequency range. (4) Incorporate the calibration data into the test software and start the EMS pre-test. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Examples of utilization in an entry management system using ETC on-board units.

[Application Example] By using ME9115A or A+C, the reading work of the ETC onboard unit WCN becomes easy!

**Product Introduction** ■ DSRC Communication Unit ME9115 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.* In recent years, various municipalities and companies have introduced vehicle entry management systems for employee parking lots or designated contractor vehicles utilizing ETC on-board units. The background for this implementation includes the increasing installation rate of ETC on-board units in private and business vehicles, as well as the fact that using the installed ETC on-board units as IDs eliminates the need to install new ID tags. When constructing an entry management system, it is necessary to associate each vehicle's information (vehicle type, owner, vehicle registration number, etc.) with the WCN of the ETC on-board unit. By using ME9115A or A+C, the reading of the WCN (wireless call number) from the ETC on-board unit becomes easier. Additionally, it is possible to measure the electric field strength emitted from the DSRC roadside unit (ME9115C or A+C), allowing for investigations of the electric field strength near parking gates, and it can also be used as a maintenance tester for roadside units. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
