Additionally, it seems that initiatives for decarbonization and information disclosure can sometimes be conditions for bidding. Furthermore, there is an increasing number of logistics services that claim to be carbon neutral. This time, I would like to share some thoughts on the reduction of greenhouse gases (hereafter referred to as "GHG") that are required in such corporate activities, particularly regarding GHG Protocol Scope 3 Category 4 and 9 (transportation, storage, and handling) related to logistics activities involved in trade (international transport) and the trading of emission rights. On July 20, 2004, Tokyo recorded its highest temperature ever at 39.5°C. This record high in Tokyo is a normal summer occurrence in my hometown (Quang Tri Province in central Vietnam). When I returned in May, the temperature was above 39°C. At that time, Japan was around 20°C, so I was a bit surprised, but it was a new experience.
