Shenzhen Shanyi Technologies, a venture from Shenzhen, China, has developed and achieved mass production of a robot for transporting automobiles. The robot, resembling a tatami mat, slides under the vehicle and repeatedly separates and combines while transporting it. It can move vertically, turn left and right, as well as move sideways (like a crab) and rotate in place. It can handle inclines of up to 10% (5.6°). Originally developed for transporting cars with four wheels, this robot can also be adapted to transport heavy objects weighing around 2500 kg with a cart that has at least four tires the size of a light vehicle, depending on the weight of the cart. This allows for the liberation from the labor of pushing heavy loads. It is ideal for transporting manufacturing equipment and metal parts weighing over 1000 kg both inside and outside factories.
