[Manufacturing Example] CCMT with Halation Prevention Surface Treatment

Adoption of black low-temperature black chrome plating! This is an example of surface treatment applied for the purpose of preventing halation.

When using CCMT in the process of work recognition by camera, there was a malfunction where errors occurred in image recognition due to halation. As a countermeasure, we would like to introduce a manufacturing example where surface treatment aimed at preventing halation was applied to CCMT. As a result of trying various surface treatments, we adopted "matte black low-temperature black chrome plating," which had a higher halation prevention effect. Partial plating: hard chrome plating

Partial hard chrome plating is possible!

The hard chrome plating tanks are two tanks measuring 2m in width, 4m in length, and 3m in depth, and 1m in width, 2m in length, and 1.5m in depth. The thickness of the hard chrome plating is calculated by measuring the dimensions before and after plating. The materials with production records in hard chrome plating include 'S45C, SS, SNCM, SKS, SUS, SCM, FCD,' among others. For other materials, please contact us. Partial hard chrome plating can be performed. Masking tape is wrapped around the areas that will not be plated to prevent electrodeposition. Recently, our hardness measurement results show that 'SCM440 is 1004-1086 and S45C is 1049-1052.'

Q. What are the dimensions of the hard chrome plating tank? A. There are two tanks: one measuring 1.8m in width, 3.8m in length, and 2.4m in depth, and another measuring 1m in width, 2m in length, and 1.5m in depth. Q. How thick can hard chrome plating be applied? A. It depends on the customer's request, but typically we perform standard plating (dimension matching) and thicker plating. There are also methods to finish by performing other processes (polishing). Q. Can it be applied to any material? A. Mainly to iron, cast iron, stainless steel, etc., but for more details, we can provide answers via email or phone. Q. Can hard chrome plating be applied partially? Is it only for new products? A. It can be applied partially. Additionally, we welcome not only new products but also repair items. We also apply it to various shapes of molds. Q. Sometimes hard chrome plating appears milky white; why does this happen? A. If the plating conditions are the cause, it may occur when there is an imbalance between the current and temperature. Additionally, the shape can also lead to a milky white appearance.

Plating technology for PA resin

High adhesion appearance plating is possible on PA resin. We can mass-produce plating on PA resin, which is rare even in Japan. We accept prototypes rather than just one-off items!

It is possible to apply decorative plating to PA (polyamide) resin, commonly known as "nylon" resin, which is widely used as engineering plastic. Plating on resin is typically done on ABS resin, and the methods are well known. Nylon resin has a higher heat resistance, as well as superior wear resistance and impact resistance compared to ABS resin, making its applications broad; however, there have been many issues regarding the adhesion and aesthetic design of the plating. Our company has developed a unique pretreatment and already has a track record of decorative plating on PA resin for many automotive parts.
