[Examples of Product Applications for Plating] Easy to do? Difficult to do? Plating on Iron

Optimization of the plating process and processing conditions is necessary! We will introduce the characteristics and application examples of different types of iron-based materials.

Since ancient times to the present, the most common material for plating has been iron-based materials. While it is easy to apply plating to iron materials, when it comes to actual products, it is not enough for the plating to simply adhere. Quality requirements for plating include good adhesion, absence of discoloration or roughness, and other appearance abnormalities. Additionally, since the composition and material conditions vary depending on the type of product, it is necessary to perform high-quality plating tailored to each specific case. To achieve this, optimization of the plating process and treatment conditions is essential. On our company website, we provide a clear table outlining the characteristics and application examples of different types of iron-based materials. Please take a look at the related links below. [Content Included] - Plating is not just about "getting it to stick" - There are many types of "iron," and for each type, there is a different plating process - Is plating on carbon steel difficult? - Characteristics and application examples of different types of iron-based materials - Structural steel / Special purpose steel / Cast and forged steel / Cast iron *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Ceramic composite plating technology

Optimal for delivery mechanisms! Patented non-slip surface treatment technology with electroplated spherical ceramics.

The composite plating technology of Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) enhances friction resistance by electrostatically depositing large spherical ceramics, resulting in a surface treatment that possesses water repellency and electrical conductivity. Since the ceramics are spherical, they cause minimal damage to the contacting counterpart and generate little static electricity, which reduces contamination adhesion. Additionally, applying a Teflon treatment over the spherical ceramics that are fixed to the material fills the gaps between the ceramics with Teflon, improving wear resistance. 【Features】 - The contact surface is made of ceramics, providing excellent wear resistance. - Being made of metal, it has good electrical conductivity and is less affected by static electricity. - The surface is coated with PTFE, offering good lubricity and water repellency. - The distribution of ceramics is random. - Resistant to solvents. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Non-slip surface treatment

Are you having trouble with "grip"? Our technology provides the friction surface you desire.

The "non-slip surface treatment" is a technology that fixes particles of materials (such as ceramics and abrasives) onto a surface through plating, causing those materials to protrude from the surface. It allows for the selection of frictional force and the control of aggressiveness against the counterpart. Grip strength can be achieved with a weaker force. Additionally, since it involves plating, it has good conductivity, which reduces the adhesion of dust due to static electricity. 【Features】 ■ Grip strength can be achieved with a weaker force ■ Low treatment temperature (below 60°C) ■ Renewable (peeling → reprocessing) ■ Conductive (prevents static electricity and charging) ■ Frictional force has no directionality *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Differences between wet plating and dry plating (vacuum plating) in surface treatment and coating processes.

Did you know that "plating," which is done for decoration, corrosion protection, and functionality, can be broadly classified into two categories? *Explanatory materials are currently available.

The main difference between dry plating and wet plating is whether or not a water solution is used during the plating process. ▼ Wet Plating The object is immersed in a solution, utilizing electrolysis or chemical reactions to form a coating. ▼ Dry Plating (Vacuum Plating) After initially applying a coating to the object, this plating technique involves evaporating metals or metal oxides in a vacuum state to form a "thin metal film" on the surface of the object. ★ This method is used for various applications, such as forming thin or special films and plating non-metals, so our company performs plating processing using commonly available materials. Please check other pages as well. We are currently offering a document summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of vacuum plating in PDF format. *For more details, please download the catalog or contact us. Meiwa Vacuum Co., Ltd. has nearly half a century of experience. We can provide a consistent response from mold creation to injection molding and plating processing.

What is vacuum plating for surface treatment and coating?

Plating processing is possible on a wide range of materials (various plastics, metals), and there are also colorful and diverse plating options available.

Dry plating (vacuum plating) is a method where, after applying a coating to the target object, metal pieces (such as aluminum, chrome, and others) are vapor-deposited in a vacuum deposition device (where the metal pieces are electrically dissolved and plated in a vacuum state). Meiwa Vacuum Co., Ltd. has approximately half a century of experience. Additionally, Meiwa Vacuum's plating processing can accommodate everything from mass production to single items like prototypes. We can provide a consistent service from mold creation to injection molding and plating processing. ★ It is used for various applications, such as forming thin films, special films, and plating on non-metals, so we perform plating processing with everyday items. Please take a look at our other pages as well. * For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.
