We would like to introduce a case study of a solution proposal for "automating the stacking of containers and AMR transportation" conducted at a food manufacturer. Before the proposal, the process of transporting empty containers from the storage area, filling them with products, and then transporting the filled containers to the next process was done manually. After the proposal, the stacked containers are transported by AMR, and the packing process is automated using parallel link robots, reducing human tasks to only operating the equipment. This is a case where Matsuzawa Holdings Co., Ltd. introduced our "Parallel Link Robot Equipped High-Speed Picking System." The company was manually packing individually wrapped Langue de Chat cookies into trays with three people. After the introduction, tray packing was done with one machine and one person responsible for supplying trays to the machine. This resulted in a reduction of two workers. We used an originally developed variable pitch three-piece handling system to pick and place three pieces at a time.
