"Vacuum casting" is widely known as a method for creating plastic prototypes without the need for expensive and time-consuming mold creation. For shapes that have undercuts, which are typically produced in mass production using blow molding or DSI methods, expensive molds were created even at the prototype stage to obtain prototypes, as the vacuum casting method could not accommodate such shapes. In the melt core vacuum casting project for manufacturing air intake ducts, we aim to achieve both short lead times and low costs by reproducing shapes that were previously impossible with "vacuum casting." **Features** - Prototypes can be produced with uniform wall thickness and precision for complexly curved pipes, intake boots, duct systems, and bellows shapes. - Depending on the shape, production in rigid materials is possible, as well as integrated products of soft and rigid materials. - It is suitable for creating visualization models of various mechanical components. For verification tests in flow analysis, it is possible to produce integrated castings of internal undercut flow areas using a special melt core method.
